The publications database
The PURE publications (“research outputs”) database at York has largely been populated from legacy data in : The White Rose Repository InCites (API) access to Web of Science
Outputs from various other sources now being added
Getting legacy data into system
One-off bulk upload, performed by Atira with centrally-organised validation
WRRO, WoS Upload of departmental data managed by
departmental administrator, inc initial validation
Smaller datasets, usually available in BibTex or RIS format
Individual academics adding own data And/or paying students to do it …
Library support for PURE
Academic Liaison Librarians help their departments with queries about adding new outputs, setting up a scan for outputs, etc
Help with integration with other bibliographic systems
White Rose repository Bibliographies held in EndNote etcRIS and BibTex export file creation
Still early days – system not fully launched, not many queries so far
