Substation Outdoor Solutions
Substation Indoor Solutions
CUBE Single-Bay Equipment
& Battery Cabinets Padmount cabinets with front and rear
access doors support both active and
passive SCADA equipment with battery
backup. CUBE offer an economical,
properly thermal regulated solution for
Fiber to the Substation applications when
a substation does not have a control
house, or the existing control house is
space exhausted or not weather proofed.
CUBE ID6 Indoor CabinetsSupporting indoor communications
applications, CUBE ID Series enclosures
feature power, equipment and optional
battery compartments, and are direct air
cooled operation in indoor equipment
areas. They provide up to 18RU front or
36RU front and rear mounting space for
23” rack mount equipment, with SCADA
electronics. An optional battery
compartment supports one string of
batteries.
CIBR Power/Battery RacksCIBR style battery racks are proven
indoor perfomers. They are modular,
seismic Zone 4 rated and designed to fit
the footprint of Ni-Cd or VRLA batteries.
Multiple configurations, from 2 to 5
battery trays, are available with optional
integrated Power Plant kits. Each tray
includes a 100 amp breaker and alarm
safety features. Each rack can be
ordered with additional 19” or 23”
equipment rack mounting kits.
CUBE Multi-Bay Equipment
& Battery CabinetsModular cabinets create a multi-bay
solution for customers who desire active
and passive equipment to be placed in
separate chambers. Thermal manage-
ment options, battery back up chambers,
top hat and riser plinths are available to
best meet specific site placement needs,
Complete factory equipment integration
is available from Charles.
CFIT Fiber Hubs & TerminalsCFIT Hub Cabinets allow a utility to easily
terminate incoming fiber and use 1XN
splitter technology to broadcast services
to downstream customers. They can also
be used as an interconnect or splice
cabinet with up to 432 splices. CFIT are
constructed out of powder-coated
aluminum and offer superior environ-
mental protection in outdoor applications;
and may be wall, pole or H-frame mounted.
CFRS Fiber Panel Rack
SolutionsFlexible, multi-functional panels for
patch-only or patch and splice
requirements within virtually any
application. CFRS are available in
1, 2, and 4RU configurations,
providing up to 288 ports (LC) in 4RU.
A swing-out shelf design allows
technicians easy access to splice/
splitter trays, with the rear of the panel
open for cable ingress/egress.
CPAD Cabinet / Generator Mounting PadsCharles Composite Pads (CPAD) are economical alternatives
for poured in place and pre-cast concrete pads. They eliminate
on-site work, save time, and reduce injury risk associated with
handling and maneuvering heavy concrete. CPAD models are
available with factory cut-outs for Charles’ CUBE PM6 and SS
Series Cabinets, and OHC Fiber Hubs; or in universal models
for mounting any manufacturer’s cabinet.
Aerial Plant Solutions
FSDC Fiber Sealed
Drop ClosuresVersatile and easy-to-use fiber
access closures are full sealed
for strand, pole, or pedestal
mount applications. In addition
to an express main feed cable,
the closure can accommodate
up to two branch cables. FSDC
support up to 16 drops.
FSDC-H Drop Closures
for Hardened DropsThe front panel of the FSDC-H
has an 8-port hardened
adapter interface for simple
plug-and-play connection of
preconnectorized hardened
drop cables Closures may be
strand, pole or pedestal
mounted or placed in vaults..
CFAS Aerial Strandmount
Drop ClosuresThis lightweight strandmount
closure provides 12 plug-and-
play drop ports in its front
access panel, and 2 standard
hinged splice trays in its
secondary splicing compart-
ment. Supports loop-through,
branch and butt splicing.
Buried Plant - Above Grade Solutions
CFFP Fiber Flexibility
PedestalsCFFP offer a scalable, low
cost alternative to placing hub
cabinets in the outside plant.
Their compact size makes
them easy to install and best
suited to small communities
and neighborhoods. Four sizes
are available with up to 72, 96,
144 and 288 fiber counts.
CFDP & BDO Fiber
Distribution PedestalsFlexible fiber distribution
pedestals accommodate
loop-through and stub-out
distribution cable; ribbon and
loose buffer tube type cable;
branch and drop splices; and
fiber slack storage. Four
diameters support 6-24 cable
drops per pedestal.
CFDP & BDO
Connectorized Fiber
Distribution PedestalsFiber Distribution pedestals
equipped with SC connector
bulkhead terminal panels
provide easy drop connections
and test access points.
Available in CFDP (inner and
outer dome) and BDO (outer
dome only) configurations.
LVP106 Pedestal with
mounted FSDCThe louvered LVP106 pedestal
offers a convenient above-
ground storage solution for
Charles’ Fiber Sealed Drop
Closure (FSDC). Technicians
can easily access the FSDC
at ground level for service
turn-up. All required bracketry
is included for quick mounting.
OHC Optical Hub
CabinetsHigh capacity fiber distribution
hubs for passive optical
networks support fusion,
pre-terminated and field
terminated feed and drop
fibers. Four cabinet sizes
support 288, 432, 576 and 864
drops respectively with front
and rear access doors to
feed and drop sides.
CMPH Multi-Purpose
HousingsVersatile housings designed
for large-volume storage
needs, including sealed fiber
splice closures with plenty of
room for cable slack storage.
One-piece lift-off dome allows
technicians ample room for
entry of multiple large cables,
including conduit. Lightweight
housings are easy to place.
FODC Fiber Optic
Dome ClosuresButt-end fiber splice closure
is mechanical compression
sealed for strand or pole
mount applications. Two sizes
provide 144 or 288 splice
capacity respectfully. Many
different cable ingress/egress
grommet options are available.
CFIT Fiber Interconnect
TerminalsFlexible outdoor aggregation/
demarcation enclosures for grow-as-
you-go scalability at multi-user sites
with up to 432 fiber splices. Fiber
Hub configurations are also
available.
CFIT-Flex Fiber Demarcation
EnclosuresCompact, non-metallic enclosures
available in two sizes for up to 24
(compact) or 72 (standard) drops
with optional swing out bulkheads
and interchangeable port plates.
Hub configurations also available.
CFTT Fiber Transition
TerminalsCFTT serve as customer
demarcation points for fiber entering
the premises and slack fiber storage
terminals 4 and 8 port models with
