Some proposals from 2nd EU-level Thematic Conference on Volunteering

• Create a space for dialogue between NGOs and business and other employers to reach greater understanding

• Support employees to do long-term volunteering (extra paid holidays etc.)

• Need for tools for assesing and validating/recognizing skills acquired through volunteering, provison of coaching to understand what a volunteer has learned

• Practical skills and knowledge of practice• Ability and self presentation• Communication skills• Independence• Loyalty to the employer• Ability to deal with stressful situations• Empathy
