OverviewTheWelcomeHomeCoalitionis18monthsalonginitsdevelopmentasaregion-wideCoalitiondedicatedtoaffordablehousingsolutions.ThisworkhasbeenledbytheCoalitionDirectorunderthedirectionoftheSteeringCommitteeandwithdynamicsupportfromseveralvolunteerworkingteams.Weseekacollaborativepartnertojointhissmallstaffbutlargeoperation,toassistincreatingandimplementingourdevelopmentandcommunicationsstrategies.Thispositionwillsupportthefast-pacedandhighlycreativeactivitiesoftheCoalitionandactasastrategicthought-partneraswedevelopthelong-termvisionfortheorganization.Weareexcitedtoexpandourteamandcan’twaittoseewherewegofromhere!

CommunicationsResponsibilities:

• Implementastrategiccommunicationsplan,developedinpartnershipwiththeCoalitionDirector.

• Createcommunicationsmaterialsincludingnewsletters,educationalmaterials,socialmediapostsandwebsiteupdates.

• EngageCoalitionmemberorganizationsasstrategicpartnerstoexpandcommunicationsreachandimprovemessagecoordination.

• Provideeventsupportincludingplanning,spacereservations,materials,advertising,andvolunteerandvendorcoordination.

DevelopmentResponsibilities:• Implementadevelopmentstrategy,developedinpartnershipwiththeCoalitionDirectorand

SteeringCommitteeFinanceChair.• Prepareanddeliverwrittenappealstoindividualsandcoalitionmemberorganizations.• Providedonorandmembersupportincludingdonorfollow-upandinvoicetracking.• Managegrantapplicationsandreports;assistwithgrantwritingandapplicationassembly.

DesiredExperience

• 2-5yearsofdevelopmentandcommunicationsexperiencepreferred• Familiaritywithsocialmediaandonlinecommunicationsplatforms• Excellentwritingandstrategicmessagingskillswithaneyefordesign• Hands-onhighachieverwhoisinspiredbymakingalastingdifferenceinourcommunity• Proactivecommunicatorwhocanrelateonameaningfullevelwithabroadspectrumof

stakeholdersincludingvolunteers,coalitionmembers,executiveleadershipandelectedofficials• Self-starterwhosetsandachievestoughgoals;meetscommitmentsregardlessofobstacles,

OurCommitmenttoEquityInourworktowardshousingjustice,wemustaddresssocioeconomicdisparities,institutionalracism,andunequalaccesstohousing.Communitiesofcolor,peoplewithdisabilities,andothersystemicallyoppressedgroupshavedisproportionatelyexperiencedhousingdisplacement,thetraumaofhomelessness,andlimitedaccesstosafeandaffordablehomes.AsWelcomeHomeworkstoaddressourcommunity’shousingneedswithnewrevenue,wewillalsoworktowardsequitableallocationofresourcesincommunitiesthathavebeendisproportionatelyimpacted.Inordertoachievethisvisionofhousingjustice,communitiesofcolorandpeopledirectlyimpactedbyouraffordablehousingcrisisholdpositionsasdecision-makers,leaders,advocatesandrepresentativesoftheCoalition.
