Welcome Message

Please take a moment to read the life skills that are posted around the

perimeter of the auditorium and read RMS’s Mission Statement.

It is the mission of the Ridley School District to create a caring environment that gives all students the opportunity to achieve their fullest personal and academic potential in order to become productive and responsible citizens.

Goals for Orientation

• Meet the administrative team/counselors

• View a sample student schedule• Learn about student activities• Parents will get a tour of the building• Transition camp• Discuss questions/concerns about

transition

Team StructureEach grade has twoteams with an averageOf 200 - 225 students.

Sample Bell Schedule

• 8:30 – 8:40 Homeroom

• 8:40 – 9:20 (1)

• 9:20 – 10:00 (2)

• 10:00 – 10:40 (3)

• 10:40 – 11:20 (4)

• 11:20 – 1:15 (5/6 & Lunch)

• 1:15 – 1:55 (7)

• 1:55 – 2:35 (8)

• 2:35 – 2:45 Dismissal

• 2:35 – 3:20 Tutoring

1. Foreign Language - students will participate in an introduction to German Language and cultures. (2.5 blocks 1 trimester)

2. Strategies - students learn about stress management, conflict resolution, and diversity and tolerance. (2.5 blocks 1 trimester)

3. Tech Literacy – students will learn keyboarding and basic computer program skills. (2.5 blocks 1 trimester)

4. Art - 1.5 blocks for 1 trimester5. Health – 1.5 blocks for 1 trimester6. General Music – 1.5 blocks for 1 trimester7. Physical Education – Once a week for a full year

• Online grading site• View progress reports and report cards• View your child’s grades for each class

and assignment• Updated at least every 2 weeks• Communicate with teachers through e-

mail• Will be given a username and password

• 3 day camp for incoming 6th grade students

• Students learn about lockers, schedules, tour the building and much more!

• Parents are invited the last day for a BBQ and question and answer session

• $30 per student to attend all three days• Dates for the camp are Aug 5, 6, and 7
