REIMBURSABLE LUNCH WHICH CONTAINS THE 5 DIFFERENT FOOD GROUPS.

What is a reimbursable lunch using Offer vs. Serve (3 out of 5 rule)?

• Students must select full portions of at least 3 of the 5 food group items offered

• Students may decline food items

• Adults must allow students to make their own choices without pressure to select certain foods

• Students must take ½ cup of fruit or vegetable before you click, tally, run their card or enter their student ID

– High school students must have:• Cheese + Chili OR• 2 servings of cheese OR• 2 servings of chili

Tips for Baked Potato Entree

• Bake potato, and slit lengthwise• Add cheese and return to warmer

– If some students prefer no cheese, leave some potatoes plain

• Offer roasted broccoli as vegetable on your line for all meals (i.e. hot dog, chicken nuggets, etc)

• Only chili and roll left to add to cheesy baked potato on the line – helps with speed of service
