• Much Alt-tab to & fro– Database & Endnote

• Much typing– Save for own notes

• Tempation to skimp– Sorry later

• Computers were meant to save us time!

Useful Endnote import filters

• Save reference from database– As *.txt file

• Alt-tab endnote– File..Import

• navigate and click

• http://endnote.otago.ac.nz– Jstor– LCoNZ@otago– Proquest 5000– Proquest dissertations– Te Puna

Example: Jstor import filter

• http://endnote.otago.ac.nz• Select jstor import filter• Select endnote jstor filter• Print instructions page!

– Slightly different each dbase

• D’load->endnote filter folder:– C:\Programs\Endnote\Filters

• Open Endnote• File…Import

Exporting directly can be better

• From:– Web of Science– Proquest 5000– Ebsco Megafile 1iere

• Tip:– Use database save folder 1st

– Save as many as practical– Then export the lot at once
