Electronic Media Chair Mammad Horriyat, P.Eng. Improved the electronic communication system

between chapter’s members and board by using the new PEO email distribution system (Campaigner)

Designed and developed new templates, images, web pages in campaigner and set up and configured to efficiently track and report the issues during E-blasts

Discovered the software bugs in PEO calendar and in grid and list views and then reported the problems to PEO IT project manager and also suggested the best solutions to resolve them and actively participated in test and evaluation of the upgraded software

Electronic Media Chair Mammad Horriyat, P.Eng. Proactively communicated to chapter’s chair, secretary

and committee chairs ( Program, education, EIT, CPC, GLP, Publication and Awards) to create invitations for seminars, ceremonies, meetings, student’s competitions for scholarship awards and other events

Updated web site in accordance with new information, application forms, news letters and event photos

Created, designed, developed and upgraded web site and made new methods for better accessibility the PEO updates and chapter’s latest news and events

Scholarship Program

Seven students were awarded with $500 scholarships.

The winners attended the CPC with their parents.

Mathletics event for students in grade 7-8 was held on November 29, 2015 at Hillcrest Library.

Approximately 40 students attended the event.

EIT & LAPEIT workshop – Experience summary dated June 10t

2015, location: Thornhill Community center

Description: The session focused on how to prepare experience summary for the achievement of P.Eng. license.

40 EITs attended. The workshop arranged by chapter and presented by PEO EIT department, Tracey Qaruana and managed by Past EIT manager Late Manoj Choudhary. Mr Mohinder Grover one of the ERC members was also attending and answered the members questions at the end of session.

EIT & LAPMentors (Cycle 5) appreciation dinner. Dated Friday, Nov

6th, 2015, At Thornhill Golf & Country Club. 11 mentors attended.

EIT & LAPLAP (Licensure Assistance Program) new cycle January 2016-June 2016 kick off meeting , on 5th of January 2016, from 5:30pm to 8:00 pm at Hillcrest Library -Auditorium

in order to introduce matched Guides(Mentors) and Interns(EITs) together and start the new session for the year 2016.

14 EITs (Interns) matched with 12 Mentors (P.Eng, Guides). Different decipline attended but we could managed successfully to match the Guides and Interns with the same major.

June 2016 kick off meeting ,

introducing LAP program to EITs and P.Engs in our chapter)

At the end I would like to ask the members to participate in LAP program be a mentors (Guides) of a EIT to prepare the experience record.

Versus 2014 carryover of $1,454.12 from 2013 plan

Carryover increment due Increased allotment in 2014 (65% increase from PEO from 2013)

2014 Chapter Allotment received:

$20,080.26 allotment from PEO

Versus 2014 allotment of $30,000.08 33% decrease from YAG due to new allotment model + reduced

budgets from PEO regarding the chapter allocations

24% increase vs. YAG. 2014 spend was $9,855.14 (101 recipients + guests). Increase falls inline with recipients + guests increment

$2,185.07 for Chapter newsletter PEO sent to members with no email for 2014 ~1234 members.

30% increase vs YAG. 2014 spend was $1,527.92. Increase due to major improvements in number of articles and formatting
