Sports Corner On Monday, some Year 3 children

represented the school at a Year 3/4 Netball Festival. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills and

develop their existing skills, amongst many other children in an exciting

environment. On Wednesday, some Year 5 and 6

children went to St Paul’s, to train and learn how to become Sports Leaders. They will soon be implementing their

knowledge over various different times across the school year. Watch this space!

Thank you also to all the parents who give up their time to give lifts to these

events. We are so grateful for the opportunities that this allows for.

Mr Smithson

More than a Feeling

Year 5 have been enjoying our circles times a lot this year! We have been learning how to

scale our emotions on the feelings thermometer and thinking of strategies to

help us get to a happy feeling when we might feel a bit sad or angry. We have even started using this in class to communicate how we

are feeling. Mrs Munday

Glorious Smores What a wonderful morning in Forest School!

Year 1 gathered firewood, played games, created coats of arms on cut pieces of wood and even roasted marshmallows on the fire. These are called smores! We all agreed that

they were super yummy! Mr Smithson

We, as a school, have signed up to the Book People's 'Big Book Boost'. Every time you place

an order with the Book People online amounting to more than £10, we receive £1

towards new books for the school. Please share this with friends and family too...leaflets will

also be coming home to explain more. Mrs Crook www.thebookpeople.co.uk/bigbookboost

Look out for World Mental Health Day on 10 October.

Marvellous Medicine Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic performance

from Divergent Drama, of 'George's Marvellous Medicine', as well as a

Creative Drama Workshop led by the actors. The children had the chance to

improve their acting skills and then went on to create their own imaginative Roald

Dahl story! Many thanks to the Friends of BVPS who provided this fizzwhizzing

opportunity for our children. Mrs Griffiths

Small Faces Over the last two weeks the children in Early Years have carefully created self-portraits. They used mirrors to support

them in mixing paints to create their skin, eye and lip colour. This task was supported by discussions and books

about how people/families are different and unique. It has been a great task and

the end products have been fantastic! Miss Hespin

Music to my Ears Year 6 enjoyed learning the glockenspiel

part to ‘Happy.’ Miss Ritchie

Everyone knows that Bolnore loves a dress up day, but the standard and enjoyment of drama across the school continues to rise. Through workshops and links with high quality texts, our

children get truly immersed in characters, stories and real-life events. Thursday was also National Poetry Day, and children celebrated in different ways. Year 6 took the opportunity to

use their fantastic vocabulary skills to write cinquain poems about Narnia. The imagery was inspiring in just 11 words! They then performed their poems, an important part of poetry writing.

I want to be in Alice in Wonderland when I’m older. I would play the

Cheshire Cat! Aubree, Year 2

Polite Reminder: To keep all children safe, please remember

not to drive into or park in the Plaza area when

collecting children at the end of the school day

or after clubs. This area is for deliveries and
