The Lord Is Judge of All the Earth
Malachi 4:1-3 (ESV) 1 “For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming shall set them ablaze, says the LORD of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. 3 And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the LORD of hosts.

Psalm 126 (ESV)
A Song of Ascents.
1 When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. 2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” 3 The LORD has done great things for us; we are glad. 4 Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like streams in the Negeb! 5 Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! 6 He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

Global
Today we will pray for Malawi.
Population: 19,089,000
Population in Unreached People Groups: 2,102,000
76.0% Christian
19.6% Evangelical
15% Unreached People Groups
The church faces major issues in Malawi. Because of deep poverty and growing health issues, maintaining effective ministries is difficult. The theological programs cannot produce leaders fast enough to keep up with the rapidly growing church. Pray for a stronger evangelical stand among the theological faculty at the seminaries and Bible schools.
We will also pray for Jefferson Baptist Church en Español and their Pastor, Miguel Flores. (9135 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70809)

Offering
“It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). One of the greatest joys for Christians is being able to give cheerfully, generously, and sacrificially. There is tremendous satisfaction that comes from seeing the fruits of our labor multiplied many times over in the lives of others. Money is a powerful thing, and when we use it well, it has potential to do incredible good. We hope that we’re able to excel in the grace of giving. And so having been found faithful with little, God will be pleased to entrust us with more.

Abuse Awareness Training
On Sunday, August 11th immediately following the Worship Gathering, anyone that works with babies through high schoolers is asked to attend this mandatory training session. Our staff has been working diligently since October to improve our safety policies and procedures. It is essential that we all know these new policies and procedures. We are thankful for all of our volunteers who serve our children and families. Our desire is to do our best to protect both child and volunteer. The training will be held in the Fellowship Hall. Lunch and childcare will be provided. Please let Bro. Travis or Lyn know if you can’t attend so that other arrangements can be made.
Parents’ Night Out
It’s time for “Back To School” Parents’ Night Out! Make plans now to bring your children (infants through 6th grade) on Friday, August 16th from 6-9pm in the Fellowship Hall. Life Groups
We have many ministries that serve to help you in your sanctification as you follow Christ. One aspect of sanctification often overlooked is accountability from brothers and sisters. Life Groups, beginning Sunday, Sept. 8, are small groups of the same gender that exist to hold you accountable in your corporate worship engagement, daily bible reading, evangelistic witness, and pursuit of holiness. Sign up to be in a Life Group by visiting wbcbr.org/ministries/discipleship and scrolling to the bottom of the page. Pastor Laramie will connect you with one of our Life Group
leaders.
Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC)
Do you want a better grasp on God’s Word so that you are able to know it and apply it better? In the Spring of 2020, Woodlawn Baptist Church will be partnering with a number of local churches to provide counseling and discipleship training. This training time will be designed to equip people to be better handlers of God’s Word in counseling and discipleship situations. If you are interested, see Bro. Travis for more information.
