TRANSCRIPT
Overview
Growth of microbes on any inflatable seal can cause discoloration, strong offensive odors, orthe formation of mildew. At a minimum, these undesirables negatively affect a seal’sappearance, but, in certain instances, may force it to be replaced.
To address this issue, Pawling EngineeredProducts has developed the industry’s firstsilicone inflatable seal with built-inantimicrobial properties. The AMS Series™antimicrobial silicone provides an addedlayer of protection in food processing, pharmaceutical, medical and scientificapplications and other high-performanceenvironments, where cleanliness andinhibiting microbial contamination arecritical.
Applications and Specifications
The AMS Series is especially designed for inflatable seals used in a wide range ofpharmaceutical, medical and sterilizer seal applications. The material is readily available in ourstandard PRS573 and all Type 10X inflatable profiles, or can be customized to suit any uniqueinflatable or compression sealing application.
Among the additional benefits customers can expect is long cycle life. Internal tests show thatafter 2 million cycles, under standard sealing conditions, the material retains its integrity.Other benefits include protection from deterioration due to microbial growth, color retentionand design flexibility.
