TEACHING PHILOSOPHY Teaching has always been a passion for me. I have a love for learning and I would hope that my students would also learn to love learning as much as I do. I believe that each child is a gift from God, placed on this earth with their individual gifts to share with others. As an educator, I am responsible to recognize, develop, and encourage each of my students to take their gift to the maximum of their abilities. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to spend 7+ hours a day molding, educating, and inspiring each child to want to learn while still valuing and building upon their individual differences. I want my classroom to be a place where each student feels safe, important, valued, and free to explore, ask, and share his or her thoughts. By making my classroom a safe, fun, and well-managed place for my students, I would hope that they will enjoy coming to my classroom and learning something new every day. I feel that all children are different and require specific attention and affection for them to flourish. I will strive to be that for each of my students; an educator who loves each child that walks in her door and gives each of them not only an education, but also a passion to learn.

To whom it may concern: Amy Gil was my son's teacher for 2 and 1/2 years. She taught him from January 2015 (kindergarten) to May 2017 (2nd grade). We started at CCA in the middle of the school year which can be stressful for any child, but Ms. Gil did a nice job of making sure my son felt comfortable in the classroom and that he was assimilating well. Ms. Gil does a good job of letting the children know exactly what she expects from them and she follows through on appropriate consequences when necessary. She also had a reward system in place for the kids who met or exceeded her expectations. She does well at getting to know each child and what they are capable of. She is able to meet the child at their academic level and teach and grow them from their current level. She communicated well with the parents in letting us know what she needed from us and what we could do to help our children be successful in her classroom. She is a wonderful artist and very creative. I enjoyed the different classroom themes that she displayed in the classroom and incorporated with the binders as well. She managed the classroom well and is very organized. She had a variety of puzzles and games for the kids to utilize in the classroom. She included the use of computers and technology in her classroom too. Ms. Gil is in my opinion, a wonderful person and a great teacher. She is kind and patient and funny.
