An Experience of your Lifetime
MOE wants every child to experience a holistic
education so as to develop well-rounded individuals.
Outdoor Education (OE) provides rich learning
experiences outside the classroom that can help our
students develop holistically, building up their
resilience and ruggedness.
Many of these experiences cannot be replicated in
the classroom, but are very important to help our
students develop 21st century competencies as well
as competencies for sustainable active and healthy
living.
Be able to deal with challenges / adversities
positively through self-directed learning and
making right choices to influence their
circumstances
Build friendships with students from different
school backgrounds and actively help each other
to achieve team goals in an inclusive manner
Commit to play an active role in the improvement
of one’s community and the environment

Narrative: Students’ perspectives
The Sec 3 MOE-OBS Cohort Camp is a mandatory school programme designed to attain meaningful learning outcomes for all our students.
It is a signature programme for the Sec 3 cohort of 2018
Students who are unable to attend the OBS Camp due to medical exemption will participate in a separate parallel programme.
The programme is heavily subsidised by MOE, and hence the fees
payable for each student is only $50 for the 5-day course.
The fees are payable from your Edusave account (if applicable) or in cash (for students without Edusave account or insufficient funds in Edusave account).
Students on financial assistance scheme will be supported with further subsidy.
The Programme Consent Form and Course Registration Form will be issued to you when school reopens in 2018.
Participating students will be required to be certified fit by a medical doctor to attend the course. All participating students must have a valid Tetanus Vaccination.
For students who do not have record of your tetanus vaccination, your parents can log on to the following website using their Singpass
https://www.nir.hpb.gov.sg/nirp/eservices/login
School will arrange for a mobile medical team to visit our school in Term 1 Week 2 in 2018 to facilitate the medical examination.
The cost for the medical examination will be borne by the school.
Students who require the tetanus vaccination by the mobile medical team will have to pay for the additional cost incurred in cash.
However, if you prefer to have your own doctor carry out the medical examination, you will have to bear the cost.
A Notification Letter for Parents, a list of “Frequently Asked Questions”, and a sample of the programme, are also enclosed for your reference.
Soft copies of the letter will be emailed to all students and information about the Sec 3 MOE-OBS Programme 2018 will be made available on the school website.
