Title of the Research Paper: “Indian Climate Based Weighted Conversion Efficiency of Solar

Photovoltaic Inverter for North and South Zone”

(The paper is available online 27 July 2017, Vol.7, No.4 (Aug 2017) at International Journal of

Current Engineering and Technology ©2017 INPRESSCO®, All Rights Reserved Available at

http://inpressco.com/category/ijcet, E-ISSN 2277 – 4106, P-ISSN 2347 – 5161)

Name of the Authors : Ms. Kusum Agarwal (Head, Dept. of EE, JIET) & Kapil Panwar &

Satish Pandey (Analytics Dept., Mahindra Susten Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai)

Abstract : PV inverter is main component of any

solar photovoltaic power plant. Efficiency of

photovoltaic inverter depends upon mainly

weather profile, which is not same always. To

find out conversion efficiency of inverter,

globally two weighted methods were introduced

as EURO and CEC efficiency which are based

on irradiation profile of Europe and California

where as Indian irradiation profile is different

from Europe and California. This paper is

introducing new weighted factors for efficiency

calculation as per irradiation profile in Indian.

Where two zones are selected as North Zone

(Rajasthan, Gujrat and Madhya Pradesh) and South Zone (Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and

Chennai) named India-North-Efficiency & India-South-Efficiency as both regions have different Irradiation

profile. These methods consider the irradiation distribution over the whole annual sunny time, impact of

temperature and prioritize the range with various weight factors.

Keywords: Conversion efficiency, Indian weighted conversion efficiency, PV inverter efficiency, Solar PV

Title of the Research Paper: “LSB Based Digital Image Watermarking for Gray Scale Image”

Name of the Authors: Gaur Sanjay B. C (Head, Dept. of ECE, JIETCOE) & Deepshikha

Chopra (Alumni Batch)

Abstract : In recent years, internet revolution resulted in an explosive growth in multimedia

applications. The rapid advancement of internet has made it easier to send the data/image

accurate and faster to the destination. Besides this, it is easier to modify and misuse the

valuable information through hacking at the same time. Digital watermarking is one of the

proposed solutions for copyright protection of multimedia data. A watermark is a form, image or text that is

impressed onto paper, which provides evidence of its authenticity. I n this paper an invisible watermarking

technique (least significant bit) and a visible watermarking technique is implemented. This paper presents the

general overview of image watermarking and different security issues. Various attacks are also performed on

watermarked images and their impact on quality of images is also studied. In this paper, Image Watermarking

using Least Significant Bit (LSB) algorithm has been used for embedding the message/logo into the image. This

work has been implemented through MATLAB.

Keywords: Watermarking, Least Significant Bit (LSB), JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group), Mean Square

Error (MSE) and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR).

Title of the Research Paper: “Language and Literature in Communication”

Name of the Authors: Dr. Rashmi Vyas (Associate Prof. (English), Dept. of

Applied Sciences, JIET) & Ms. Chitra Chhablani (Asst. Prof. (English),

JIETCOE)

Abstract : Rightly pointed out by Samuel Johnson, “Language is the dress of

thoughts”, those thoughts which help in making man a rationale being.

Humans have a unique quality to communicate through words. This quality

of articulation makes them distinct from all other living beings. He is rightly

termed as a linguistic being because all arenas of his life depend on the clout

of communication and language is its powerful tool. There are over _6,909___ languages spoken in the world

(Courtesy: Ethnologue (published by SIL International----2009 statistics) but international language is required

for weaving the world into a communicative entity and English has consummated this task productively. English

is mostly extant as a second language in most of the countries as it is easily adaptable and amalgamating in

various cultures. Several types of English have emanated viz- American English , Canadian English, Australian

English, African English, Indian English etc. The language has played a vital role in the development of Science

and Technology as all the concepts are understood only in this language. The communicative formal language

of business class, academicians, researchers, service class, politicians, economists and social reformers is

English; it has become a facilitator for learning. In the present scenario the technocrats and engineers require to

have a good command over the language so that a plethora of opportunities is created around them. The

problems and difficulties faced in learning English as a Second Language needs to be taken into account and

pragmatic solutions for the same are desirable.

The paper presents an overview of language and then focuses on the learning of the international language with

some practical suggestions for the instructors and how the learning can be made interesting with introducing

literature as a learning tool for language.

Keywords: Language, Communication, English, facilitator, streams of learning, pragmatic suggestions,

literature, learning tool.

Title of the Research Paper: “Potential of Bio Butanol

Driven Petrol Engines and Solid Oxide Fuel Cells”

(The paper has been published in International Journal of

Engineering Technology Science and Research, IJETSR,

ISSN 2394 – 3386, Volume 4, Issue 7, July 2017)

Name of the Authors: Dr. Sushma Dave (Associate Prof.

(Chemistry), JIET), Ms. Neetu Dabi (Assistant Prof. (Sr.),

Chemistry, JIET) & Akshat Mathur (B.Tech, III sem.)

Abstract: As the demand for fuel is constantly increasing, petroleum reserves are on a constant decline. This

scenario has called for the requirement of an alternative fuel to replace the likes of petrol (gasoline) and possibly

an alternative propulsion system for the benefit of environment. This paper assesses the potential of n-butanol

as an alternative to petrol (gasoline) to be used in solid oxide fuel cells and petrol engines. It explores various

methods, both relatively newer and more traditional for obtaining n-butanol. The paper evaluates these

processes for sustainability in the long term. Scope of using n-butanol as a fuel for solid oxide fuel cells is also

examined and merits as well as demerits of such a system are presented.

Keywords: Butanol, n-butanol, solid oxide fuel cells, SOFC, alternative fuel

Title of the Research Paper: “Key Based Cryptanalysis of DES, AES and RSA and analysis of RSA using

Randomization”

Name of the Author: Ms. Aarti Dadheech (Assistant Prof, Dept. of CSE, JIETCOE)

Abstract : Network security means providing Confidentiality, Integrity, and Authentication of

sensitive data while storing, processing or transmitting. The network needs security against

attackers and hackers. Network Security includes two basic domains. The first is the

information security i.e. to protect the information from unauthorized access, alteration and

loss. And the second is devices security i.e. to protect data stored in devices and to resist

hackers. Data security can be provided by using encryption system, and for encrypting any of

the two types of keys can used namely, Public Key and Private Key. Public Key is the key used

to encrypt a plain text and which is available for everyone and Private Key is the key used to decrypt the cipher

text in order to make it readable and it is kept private as the name suggests. Cryptanalysis basically depends on

key and algorithm. Even after knowing the encrypting algorithm it is not feasible to break the code. But, for any

encrypted form, by any means if key could be found it becomes easy to decode. Complexity of Brute force attack

depends on the key length. As longer key gives greater search spaces, it will take much more time to break the

code. After a point brute force becomes impractical as it may lead to extensive search spaces. As per current

scenario it is necessary to send a key in a secured manner which ensures privacy even if the channel is

unsecured one and as we know internet is not a perfect secured channel. This makes it important, cryptosystems

to be more powerful to work against cryptanalysis. In this paper, we have discussed how to speculate the key in

efficient way and hence reduce the complexity of breaking the code encrypted using most well-known modern

algorithms DES, AES and RSA

Name of the Project : ETD (Explosive Trace Detector)

Names of the Student : Mishika Mathur (Final Year, ECE branch, JIET COE)

In today's globalized world, authorities around the world are confronted with an increasing

number of threats to citizens, businesses and institutions.

Whether its passengers crossing borders, airplanes carrying cargo or critical infrastructure in

operation, governments across the globe have to deal with a multitude of threats.

With today's heightened threat of terrorism, security professionals at nuclear power plants,

embassies, high-risk facilities, transportation, and government agencies have been using

explosives trace detection for several years. Our technology also can be used to detect narcotics, as part of a

sound security strategy to help protect the public and vital infrastructure from threats.

Detecting trace amounts of narcotics or explosives can make also all the difference in organized crime and

terrorism investigations. Morpho develops cutting-edge technologies to make these solutions accessible and

affordable to police forces around the world.

Organized crime and terrorism investigations often depend on law enforcement's ability to detect trace

amounts of narcotics and explosives on people, money, or at crime scenes. However, the methods available for

this analysis typically involve high transport and personnel costs, as well as delays caused by external

processing.

Explosives trace detectors (ETD) are explosive detection able to detect explosives of small magnitude. The

detection is accomplished by sampling non-visible "trace" amounts of particulates. Devices similar to ETDs are

also used to detect narcotics. The equipment is used mainly in airports and other vulnerable areas considered

susceptible to acts of unlawful interference.

Name of the Seminar: “3-D Password”

Name of the student: Ayushi Agarwal (Final Year, CSE, JIETCOE)

Guide: Ms. Purva Vaishnav (Asst. Prof. , CSE, JIETCOE)

Abstract: Textual passwords are commonly used; however, users do not follow their

requirements. Users tend to choose meaningful words from dictionary or their pet names,

girlfriend etc. 10 years ago, Klein performed such test which enabled him to crack 10-15

passwords in one day. On the other hand, if a password is hard to guess, then it is often hard

to remember.23
