Thank you Ignacio, president Roge, dear IOC members, ladies and gentleman.

I have the chance to speak to many of you in private conversations and also in

our presentations in Saint Petersbug and in ausanne.I must said I!d like to continue our friendship, and frankly, I don!t "ant this to be

our last chance to speak to each other, so let me tell you a little more about my beautiful

hometo"n, #adrid. #adrid is one of the most comfortable, charming and inviting cities

in the "orld. $ust like all of Spain, #adrid is an ama%ing mi&ture of traditions. 'ou can

see, feel and taste the "onder of Spanish culture in #adrid!s parks, its food, its art and

its architecture.

Perhaps, those of you "ho have visited #adrid share this feeling. (e have been

"orking hard for many years, so our guests, almost eight million each year, feel at

home. )nd most importantly, #adrid is fun. The Olympic *ames are not only a

celebration of sport, they are also a celebration of life and I assure you, no one

celebrates life like Spanish people do.There is nothing +uiet like a rela&ing cup of café con leche in Plaza Mayor  or a

+uaint romantic dinner in El Madrid de los Austrias, the oldest part of #adrid. These

e&periences and so much more are the heart and soul of #adrid.
