NME• The masthead of the magazine is on

the left which also keeps the magazine identity. Also the band names are listed on the left side of the magazine in red for it to stand out and also so that you are able to navigate around the magazine easily. Sub headings are featured on the right side of the page in capital and contrasting colours to ensure that they stand out. The articles features within also are in red black and white which is the colours that are consistent throughout the magazine. Also the subscription box in the corner stands out as it is yellow on a black background. This also makes you want to buy the magazine as it offers a substantial decrease in price, therefore encouraging the reader to buy more. As the photos are long shots and are on a red lighted background, they stand out against the white of the rest of the page but also correspond with the colour scheme.

Q• The image that they have used on

the contents page is of a band which could possibly be the main attraction to the audience. They have also included a page number and a small caption of a quote from the article. The feature column on the left promotes the main articles the issue has along with page numbers so it is easier for you to navigate around the magazine. They have used the magazine logo twice to link the front cover to the rest of the magazine. Also they have used a lot of reds and blacks which corresponds to the colour scheme. They also have subheadings so it is easier for the reader to navigate around the magazine.

Kerrang• In the top left corner they have

used the image which is on the front cover so you can easily see what issue of the magazine it is. Also they have used quotes from band members all around the contents page so that the readers become more interested. The contents page is also clearly labelled so that you know which page you are on. Throughout the page, the colour scheme is yellow black and white which corresponds to the rest of the magazine and logo. On the right hand side they have used subheadings so that it is easier for the reader to navigate around the magazine. They also have pictures which correspond to certain articles in the magazine which also attracts readers as they know what article it is and who it is about.
