Now we dig up the major cause for the RAB Failure in PS Mode , and found that the RAB Failure was mainly due to UL CE cong. Details of RAB Failure in Ajmer RNC :

Below is the list of sites which were having PS RAB , RRC cong. The Card relocation and addition was done for the sites indicated in green color which reduced the overall CE Cong. in Jaipur RNC.

Major Breakthrough achieved for the congestion removal :

1. CE Hardware addition. 2. LDR Parameter change.3. User BIT Rate reduction.4. Parameter optimization for Power and Code Cong. removal.5. Physical Optimization activity performed on the cells.

The details of each breakthrough and impact observed after the changes is covered as below :

1.1.1 CE HARDWARE ADDITION:

CE hardware addition performed on top 10 priority sites of which 5 cards were taken from switched off sites (Near to school) , 4 card from spares and 1 from non operational site(SMS Hospital). The sample of PRE and POST KPI observed after the CE Card addition is as below.

Post KPI of Kumbhamarg Site after the CE card addition: the below graph indicates that the major improvement has been observed after the CE Card addition on the sites having high CE Cong. ratio on RRC and RAB. It is due to the High CE requirement for HSUPA and R99 Services.

1.1.2 LDR Parameter Changes :

LDR Parameter changes performed in the Jaipur and Ajmer RNC dated 26th Sept 2012 , after which the Ajmer RNC success rate increased by approx 10 % and Jaipur RNC increased by 1.2 %

HSDPA , HSUPA , R99 Access Success Rate since 27th Aug 2012.

Site wise analysis where the LDR parameters were changed in the Ajmer RNC :

It can be clearly seen as per the above graph that the VS.RAB.FAILESTABPS.UL.CE.CONG. counter value has been decreased significantly after the changes implemented on 26th Sept 2012 , these sites were contributing the 80 to 90 % of CE cong at the RNC level.

The changes at the RNC for the parameter UlBeTraffInitBitrate setted to D32 was done at 16:00 Hrs.

After the changes we can clearly see that the 64 RB has reduced on both Bkg , Interactive and 32 RB has take the initial call attempts from 64 RB.

The Below graph indicates the Payload (MB) and R99 Throughput (bps) , It can be clearly seen from the below graph that the PS 128 UL Payload increases as the Busy Hour approaches since the data download and the CE bit rate reduction is functional.

The PS RAB Cong. Due to UL CE was 4253 @ 22:00 Hrs and 2332 @ 23:00 Hrs (DBH)

If we compare the DBH hour data of 13th and previous days we find a reduction of around 3K .

1.1.4 Parameter optimization for Power and Code Cong. removal :

After the addition of CE card it has been observed that the Power and code cong. tends to rise sharply on the sites, so to counter that we alter the below parameters.
