Analyzing shots from music video

We have decided to analyse a few shots from our music video – to

explain their meaning behind them;

This image represents the second character, we are using this shot in the very beginning before we show the girls as well as the artist. This shot is in our opinion appropriate in the start as it

shows and tells the audience so little yet so much about the character the "ex"

girl plays.

We have decided to use this shot as a zoom shot into the "ex" girl's face, although it is covered with her cardigan - it brings the

audience closer to her character and helps them understand; her eyes are upset and almost angry which shows her in the negative way - comparison to the dream girl. It is also quite

engaging for the audience as this shot is very different to the rest.

We are using this extreme close up together with pink light - to let the audience see detail

and feel closer to the dream girl - also makes it more intimate and "flirty" , which is what we have aimed for; we almost want the audience

fall in love with her just like the singer has.

These hand close ups are used in the very beginning of the music video, they are used before we get to see any

of the characters in this music video, we are going to use them as they are quite clearly women's hands which lets the audience know about women being included in the music video - visual going with the

song.

This shot of the "dream girl" smiling is perhaps used to represent the "cheekiness" of the main girl, the "desire" girl. Many shots show her as a happy, positive character - perhaps the "ex" girl

does not.
