Design Access offers you the rare opportunity to visit and shop in over 50 “to the trade only” home furnishings showrooms that are not open to the general public. An interior designer will personally guide you to exciting, trend setting showrooms where you can select and purchase furniture, accessories, art, rugs and lighting. Your personal designer will be with you all day to answer design questions, assist with floor plan layouts, select fabrics, furnishings and guide you in making wise design decisions. You may order product directly through your designer who will handle all the logistics including delivery throughout the US & worldwide — making it an enjoyable and productive experience.
Design Access: A Unique Furniture Shopping Experience
The best times to come are the 2nd Wednesdays of each month (with the exception of April, July & October) as you’ll have a larger selection of showrooms available.

With more than 50 furniture stores and outlets, open to the public, the array of product and design is limitless. There are so many ways to shop for furniture in High Point and the surrounding area! Shop the traditional 50+ furniture stores, or pair yourself with one of our Preferred Interior Designers and get into select manufacturer showrooms that are only open to the trade! Visit our website at highpoint.org to search for furniture by product, style or manufacturer, and connect to designers while you’re there.

FURNITURESHOPPING TIPS
• Do your Homework. Familiarize yourself with manufacturers, prices and styles by comparison shopping before you leave home. It's easy to become overwhelmed with choices once you're here.
• Timing. Avoid the Furniture Market during mid-April and mid-October, when the region is hosting 75,000+ market attendees during the High Point Market.
• Shipping. Fees vary from store to store just like the prices. Some charge a percentage of invoice, while others charge by weight. Some on the other hand will refer you to shippers as opposed to handling in-house. Compare your options and make note of what's inclusive (set-up or assembly).
• Payment. Be prepared to make deposits on purchases. The balance is generally due upon delivery.
• Returns. Most stores will accept returns only if merchandise is damaged, defective or contrary to your order-and then only for exchanges.
• What to pack. Bring photographs of your home, measurements and detailed floor plans, if you can, as well as paint chips and fabric swatches from furniture and rugs you already own. A camera, tape measure, notebook and pen are all useful.
• Wear comfortable shoes.
• Allow yourself enough time to shop around so you can make price and inventory comparisons.
• Be equipped with transportation as shopping is spread out with more than 50 furniture stores across the Piedmont Triad area.
• Plan to stay multiple days as it is difficult to accomplish all of your shopping needs in one day!
• Take advantage of the Interior Design Service the HPCVB offers on our website highpoint.org.
