ORDER OF WORSHIP MAY 30, 2021

TRINITY SUNDAY

❖ IS HE WORTHY? Andrew Peterson and Ben Shive

Do you feel the world is broken? We do. Do you feel the shadows deepen? We do. But do you know that all the dark won’t stop The light from getting through? We do. Do you wish that you could see it all made new? We do.

Is all creation groaning? It is. Is a new creation coming? It is. Is the glory of the Lord to be The light within our midst? It is. Is it good that we remind ourselves of this? It is.

Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole? Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll? The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave – He is David’s root and the Lamb who died To ransom the slave.

Is he worthy? Is he worthy? Of all blessing and honor and glory. Is he worthy of this? He is!

Does the Father truly love us? He does. Does the Spirit move among us? He does. And does Jesus, our Messiah Hold forever those he loves? He does. Does our God intend to dwell again with us? He does.

Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole? Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll? The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave – He is David’s root and the Lamb Who died to ransom the slave.

From every people and tribe, every nation and tongue. He has made us a kingdom and priests to God To reign with his Son.

Is he worthy? Is he worthy? Of all blessing and honor and glory. Is he worthy? Is he worthy? Is he worthy of this? He is! Is he worthy? Is he worthy? He is! He is!

PRAYER FOR CHRIST’S CHURCH AND THE WORLD

TRINITY SONGSandra McCracken

Holy Father, Son, and Spirit Holy Communion, Three in One (2x)

Come with your peace with your invitation Bind us together in holy love (2x) (Repeat all)

Holy Father Son, and Spirit (3x) Three in One, Three in One, Three in One

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Most holy and merciful Father, we confess to you and to one another that we have sinned against you by what we have done, and by what we have left undone.

We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength. We have not fully loved our neighbors as ourselves. We have not always had in us the mind of Christ. You alone know how often we have grieved you by wasting your gifts, by wandering from your ways, by forgetting your love.

Forgive us, we pray, most merciful Father, and free us from our sin. Renew us in the grace and strength of your Holy Spirit, for the sake of Jesus Christ your Son, our Savior. Amen.

❖ WORDS OF ASSURANCE 1 John 2

Leader: If anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. In Christ, we are forgiven!

People: Thanks be to God!

❖ GOD IS FOR US James Ferguson, James Tealy, Jesse Reeves, Jonny Robinson, Michael Farren, Rich Thompson, and Tiarne Tranter

We won't fear the battle, we won't fear the night We will walk the valley with you by our side You will go before us, you will lead the way We have found a refuge only you can save

Chorus: Sing with joy now, our God is for us The Father's love is a strong and mighty fortress Raise your voice now, no love is greater Who can stand against us if our God is for us

Even when I stumble, even when I fall Even when I turn back still your love is sure You will not abandon, you will not forsake You will cheer me onward with never ending grace (Chorus)

Neither height nor depth can separate us Hell and death will not defeat us He who gave His Son to free us Holds me in His love (Repeat) (Chorus 2x)

If you are not a Christian, please consider spending this time in prayer.

All: Christ has died.Christ is risen.Christ will come again.

Minister: Christ, our Passover, has been sacrificed for us.

WORDS OF INSTITUTION AND PARTAKING OF THE ELEMENTS

Prayer of Seeking Truth

Lord Jesus, you claim to be the way, the

truth and the life.If what you claim is

true, please guide me, teach me, and

open to me the reality of who you are.

Grant that I might be undaunted by the

cost of following you as I consider the

reasons for doing so. Give me an

understanding of you that is coherent,

convincing, and that leads to the life

that you promise. Amen

Prayer of Belief

Lord Jesus, I admit that I am weaker

and more sinful than I ever before

believed, but through you, I am more

loved and accepted than I ever dared to

hope. I thank you for paying my debt,

bearing my punishment on the cross

and offering forgiveness and new life.

Knowing that you have been raised

from the dead, I turn from my sins and

receive you as my Savior. Amen.

Congregational Meeting Sunday, June 20 There will be a Congregational Meeting following both worship services on Sunday, June 20, for the purpose of electing elders, deacons and trustees of Christ the King. If you are a communing member of Christ the King, please make it a priority to be present.

Discover Your Calling August 1 & 8, 12:00 - 2:00 pm, The Redeemer Room Calling can be an elusive and frustrating idea. Those who have clarity on calling - the place and people they know to love and serve - seem to be more confident and effective. Hearing God’s voice is the goal, but finding the time, listening to all the ways he is leading us and finally making sense of it all can be a daunting assignment. We hope this class will help you in discerning God’s call by hearing from his Word, listening in prayer, assessing opportunities, and unpacking your own personality and gifting. Please register by July 21 to be able to complete the prerequisite assignments.
