About Anne FrankOver 70 years ago, Anne Frank, a German Jewish teenager, was forced into hiding in the ‘secret annexe’ with her family and others in Amsterdam, escaping the persecution and extermination of Jews by the Nazis.

During her time in the ‘secret annexe’, Anne wrote a diary, which was a profoundly honest account of her two years in hiding.

Published by her father after her death in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, Anne’s Diary of a Young Girl has inspired millions of people, including Nelson Mandela during his incarceration.

About Anne Frank + YouAnne Frank + You is an exhibition about Anne Frank’s life and times. It also presents contemporary issues, such as racism in football, gang violence in the UK and Malala Yousafazi’s campaign for the education of girls. It brings Anne Frank’s voice firmly into the 21st century, and includes interviews with modern day British teenagers.

The exhibition is recommended for adults and young people aged 10 and over, and encourages fact-finding, reflection, and self-exploration.

The exhibition includes:• A look at Anne’s childhood, set against the rise of the Nazis and the Holocaust

• An almost life size replica of Anne’s room in the secret annexe

• The chilling genocide tunnel with powerful film footage

• The Anne Frank photo album, with photos of Anne and her sister Margot

• Replica artefacts from Anne’s life and the Holocaust

• Contemporary stories exploring how the issues that affected Anne are still relevant today

• A chance to declare a commitment to stand up for what is right and speak out against what is unfair and wrong by signing the Anne Frank Declaration

We hope that you have an informative, meaningful and memorable visit.

This exhibition is brought to Nottinghamshire through the generosity of Nottinghamshire County Council.
