SERIF TV for Samsung

Interface, remote control, packaging, ads, postcards, catalogue, website, signage 2015

For and with Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec Interaction Design: Gaël HugoWebsite Development: iris, London

In close collaboration with Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec and Gaël Hugo we developped the graphic part of the user interface for SERIF TV, that we nicknamed the “curtain mode”.

Like pulling a curtain over the screen, the user interface applies a filter over the content giving an abstract impression of what is going on behind. When the “curtain mode” is active, viewers can access simple services such as a clock, Bluetooth speakers, apps and their photo gallery.

It can be said that humans have a bit of a short term view of things. We are concerned about the end of summer, the next school year, and maybe even retirement. But these are just a blink of an eye in cosmic terms. Let’s really think big, stare forward in time, and think about what the future holds for the Universe. Look forward millions, trillions, and even into the future. Let’s consider the end of everything. End of Humanity. In 10,000 years. Modern humans originated in Africa about 200,000 years ago. Since then, we’ve gone on to inhabit every single corner of the globe. But this is just temporary. The vast majority of every

Catalogue for Alvar Aalto at Vitra Design Museum 2014

For and with Greige; Mark Kiessling and Birthe HaasFotos: Greighe

I was helping Greige for the Vitra Design Museum catalogue of Alvar Aalto. The catalogue is 680 pages thick; and there is a english and a german edition. I was working on grid, layout, and Macro- and Micro- typography. Birthe and Mark were doing conceiving the book as an object, doing the communication with the client and the printer, and supervising the retouching of images.
