BABY NEWS Congratulations to Mrs Bavin and her husband who are expecting their first child; baby Bavin will be making an appearance at the end of July. Sainsbury’s Sports Vouchers As a school we are collecting the Sainsbury’s sports vouchers please hand them in to the office. Early Years Playground The new climbing frame is now complete and will be opened next week for the pupils to use. Main Playground We are redeveloping the main playground and we are asking for the children to tell us what they would like to see in their playground by completing their own design on the attached paper. Please hand designs into the office by Friday 18 th March 2016. EASTER PERFROMANCES In the last week of term each class will be doing an Easter Assembly from 9.00 – 9.20, please see below for your child’s class. Monday 21 st March - Yr1 and Yr2 (to include an Easter bonnet parade) Tuesday 22 nd March – Nursery and Reception (to include an Easter bonnet parade) Wednesday 23 rd March – Year 3 (children can decorate an egg to display in the assembly) Thursday 24 th March - Year 4 and Year 5 (children can decorate an egg to display in the assembly) Is your child entitled to free school meals? Many families in Sandwell could get free school meals but don't claim for them. Your child may be entitled to free school meals if: your annual income is less than £16,190; and you claim Child Tax Credit. Your child may also qualify for free school meals if you receive any of the following benefits: Employment and Support Allowance (income related) Income Support Guaranteed Pension Credit (including Child Tax Credit) Income-based Jobseekers Allowance support from the National Asylum Support Service. Your child will not qualify for free school meals if you claim Working Tax Credit. If you are in receipt of benefits and you meet the eligibility criteria, your child may be entitled to free school meals. Please visit www.sandwell.gov.uk/info/200151/education_benefits/2176/free_school_meals to download an application form, or come to the school office where we can help you. Even if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 and has universal free school meals, please apply as this can raise valuable funding from central government.

Parent Governor We currently have a vacancy for a parent governor; please see the attached letter on how to nominate yourself or another parent. Year 2 music project We have been selected by the Local authority music service and Warwick music group to take part in an exciting project. The project will include 2 days of music workshops including testing a brand new musical instrument. Class Dojo’s

At then end of this term the class with the most Dojo points will be awarded an cinema afternoon as their prize. We will also be giving prizes to the boy and girl who has the most dojo’s in the whole school. We will announce the winners at the end of next week.

School Office The school office is unmanned until 8.30, to report your child’s absence or for any other messages please leave a message on the answer machine. Britains Biggest Breakfast for Cancer Research We would like to say a massive THANK YOU for your support and kind donations this morning we are pleased to announce that we have raised £160.40 for this worthy cause. Dates for your Diary • Tuesday 15th March 2016 – Yr.1 visit to Beechcroft residential home to perform • Wednesday 23rd March 2016 – Yr.2 visit OAP home to perform. • Thursday 24th March 2016 – Wear a hat for Brain Tumour Research. (more details to follow) • Thursday 24th March 2016 - Break up for Easter Holidays at 1.30pm. (we will not be dismissing pupils until 1.30)
