The aim of scope of the Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology is to provide an international forum forthe publication and dissemination of original work that contributes to the understanding of the main and relateddisciplines of mechanical engineering, either empirical or theoretical. The Journal covers the whole spectrum ofmechanical engineering, which includes, but is not limited to, Materials and Design Engineering, ProductionEngineering and Fusion Technology, Dynamics, Vibration and Sound, Robotics and Control, and ThermalEngineering and Fluid Engineering. Manuscripts may fall into several categories including full articles, solicitedreviews or commentary, and unsolicited review or commentary related to the core of mechanical engineering. Itis also proposed to maintain an international diary of forthcoming events. Prospective quest editors for publishingthe special issue should contact the Editorinchief of the Journal.

Abstract The objective of this research is to investigate the performances of the carbonbasalt/epoxy hybrid composites under flexural loading. In this work, the hybrid composites were manufactured by the vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) process. The variations of flexural strength and modulus of the hybrid composite according to the number of basalt fabric were investigated, and we obtained the expression to calculate their mechanical properties.
