FOR SUPPORTING US!THANK YOU
This is a place where kids and their families can fi nd help and hope.
BILL MARTIN
Our approach is guided by nearly 100 years of experience and the work of Cornell University and its CARE model. We treat young people who are experiencing problems at home, in school, and in the community with care and compassion, addressing the underlying needs that are at the heart of their struggles. Through the development of strong therapeutic relationships, we strive to enhance their belief that they can do well, and partner with them on that journey.
This year held many changes for us. We believe in the work that we do and are looking forward to serving the children and families in our community well into the future. I want to thank you all or your continued support and ensuring the future strength and great work of Waterford Country School.

2018-2019 FISCAL YEAR
On October 24th, 2019, Waterford Country School staff and board members gathered to share stories of hope and change with Cornell University’s Martha Holden. Since adopting the Cornell University CARE Model in 2009, WCS has seen amazing changes in every program.
On this beautiful day in October, Martha Holden presented WCS Executive Director Bill Martin with the fi rst CARE Academy award, naming WCS an the fi rst CARE Academy award, naming WCS an agency that doesn’t just utilize the model but is
a pioneer in the implementation and sustainable outcomes the model is designed for. When presenting the award, Martha said “When I fi rst wrote this model, people would ask me, what agencies did I believe in…who could I recommend that was caring for kids in this way….and I’m sad to say I couldn’t recommend any. I want to honestly say that watching you and meeting with you over these last 10 years….I am so proud to be working with Waterford Country School. This place is a with Waterford Country School. This place is a place I would send my child.”

Squirrels, swans, owls and donkeys....we take in almost 200 injured animals per year. Some are returned to the wild, some find a forever home on our farm.
This year more than 10 dogs have become part of our classrooms, therapy rooms and offices. Children and staff alike enjoy daily interaction with these pups.
In each of our programs, children with specialized needs find a place to belong. We served over 1900 children across all of our programs this year.

As we look toward our 100 year anniversary, we take great pride in the accomplishments realized since our inception and now look to strengthen the organization for the next century of service. Non-profit organizations have experienced great challenges in recent years; facing constant funding cuts and rising costs. Our organization must be able to better subsidize the cost of care in the future in order to continue to offer the range of services we currently provide.
We are now seeking to enhance our endowment fund, currently at 2.5 million dollars. Our goal is to increase the Endowment Fund to 10 million dollars by our centennial celebration in 2022, to ensure that Waterford Country School will be able to improve the lives of children and families forever.
Your generosity will make a substantial impact on the existence and
evolution of Waterford Country School.
