BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Chair’s Message

MISSION STATEMENTThe Northern Kane County Chamberis an advocate for business interestsand development by identifying andfulfilling the needs of the business

community through leadership, education, support and promotion.

Marty Gudmundson

The first quarter of 2013

has been a very busy and

exciting time for the

chamber. In this time we

have hosted a very

successful Ambassador

Bowling event at

Brunswick Bowl, a

Business to Consumer Expo at Spring Hill Mall,

the Inaugural Rise and Shine Breakfast,

published the 2013 Community Guide, and

launched the faster and more user friendly

website. The Ambassadors Bowling event had an

oldies theme, with lots of great food and prizes.

The Business to Consumer Expo received good

feedback from all of the participants about how

well it was attended. One of the participants

stated “Best Ever”. The Inaugural Rise and Shine

held at the Village of Carpentersville utilities

building was an opportunity for business owners

and residents to meet and greet the village

officials. The second Rise and Shine will be held

in West Dundee on April 26th at 8:30AM. Stay

tuned to the monthly event calendar for more

information. We are hoping to coordinate a Rise

and Shine with all the villages covered by the

chamber in the near future. We are also very

proud with the new 2013 community guide and

newly formatted and updated website. The

community guide is a wonderful reference for

many of the local businesses. Our new website is

easier, faster, and is accessible from your smart

phone or tablet. On top of all this we have had

multiple networking events that were well

attended. Thanks and congratulations to all of the

committee members for pulling together these

awesome events. What does all of this add up to,

opportunities!

We have lots more opportunities coming in

the next few months. Our annual golf outing will

be held at Randall Oaks Golf Club on June 14th.

It has become one of the premier chamber events

because of the great time all of the participants

have had over the last few years. It will be the

traditional shotgun start with plenty of games,

raffles, food and fun. If you are not an avid golfer

don’t worry! There’s lots ways of winning

without being the professional. Other events in

the planning stages are the Business to Business

Expo, the Annual Awards Dinner, and the Fall

Business to Consumer Expo. We also have a

events every few weeks creating additional

networking opportunities, such as Ribbon

Cuttings, welcoming new members to the

chamber. Come say hello and introduce yourself

and your business. We also help organize

afterhours events which offer opportunities to

create new relationships. All of the afterhours and

ribbon cuttings have seen a wonderful increase in

their attendance.

As a current chamber member, if you see a

new business opening near you, stop by and

introduce yourself. Let them know about the

Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce

and all of the hard work going on to promote

local business. Let them know about the power of

networking and all of the opportunities to market

their new business as a chamber member. List

some of the opportunities mentioned above or

include other benefits such as web blasts. Then

make sure to give them the chamber contact

information.

We look forward to seeing you at future events.

Best Regards,

Marty Gudmundson
