Matching SMEs and Investors - the added value of the Network
Access to financial support is the life blood of budding entrepreneurs, start-ups and growing SMEs and an area where Network
support can be absolutely crucial. Providing the best support means understanding the reality on the ground as well as knowing the
institutions and instruments.
The session will provide revealing insights into the supply and the demand sides of access to finance through the real-life experiences
of an entrepreneur and an investor. Taking this on board, it will also explore how Network members can enhance their role as an
intermediary to help more SMEs achieve successful results.

Regional integration: enhancing the quality of SME support
Network members make an important contribution to SME support at a regional level. Yet the wide range and scale of
available support can be challenging to understand and as a result, opportunities to take a coordinated approach are
sometimes missed.
The session aims to bring clarity to this complex landscape and drawing from the experience of Network members
and the European Commission's Directorate-General for Regional Policy (DG REGIO) examine how the Network can
contribute to the strategic development of better SME support at regional level.
