1. Training Activities
1. Maxxcel Institute of Professional Studies conducted
Employability Skills training for Final Year students of
Computer Engineering and Electronics &
Telecommunication Engineering from 01 to 12 July 2019.
2. Prof. Avila Naik, Prof. Jyoti Lewis and Prof. Steefni Cruz
from Department of Science & Humanities from 01 July to
06 July 2019 conducted Pre Placement Training for the
Third Year students.
3. The Goa State Innovation Council in collaboration with
the Training and Placement Cell, Don Bosco College of
Engineering organized a Panel discussion on
“Demystifying the Impact of Digitization on Industry” on
Saturday, 27 July 2019. The panelists were Dr. Mridula
Goel, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, BITS
Pilani, K.K. Birla Goa, Dr. Chiraj Modi, Assistant
Professor, Department of Computer Science and
Engineering, NIT Goa, Mr. Mangirish Salelkar, CEO &
CoFounder - Umang Software Technologies, Dr. Pradeep
Salgaonkar, Director at SALDOTS Academy - Researchers,
Corporate Trainers and Facilitators and Mr. Ramchandra
Salgaonkar, Founder, Amaze Warriors who also doubled
up as the Moderator.
4. Seminars on Internshala were conducted for Third Year
ETC, Civil, Computer and Mechanical Engineering
students in the month of August 2019 to create awareness
about internships.
5. The Training and Placement Cell arranged a day with the
Indian Navy as a part of the Series on Alternate Careers
after Engineering for the Third Year and Final Year
Engineering Students from Computer, Mechanical and
Electronics & Telecommunication. The talk was organized

on Friday, 13 September 2019 at the campus and
delivered by Lt. Shama Goel who presented an overview
of the Indian Navy and the career prospects at the Navy.
She was assisted by CHELA. Tarsem Lal and POAF, K K
Bhagat from the Indian Navy currently posted at INS
Hansa.
6. Training and Placement Cell conducted online FirstNaukri
Aptitude test for all Third year students of Don Bosco
College of Engineering. Also a coding test was conducted
which was compulsory for Computer students and rest
branches interested students could participle. Aptitude
test was conducted online on 15th February 2020 and
online coding test was conducted on 17th February 2020.
The aptitude test was taken by 118 students and 25
students participated for coding test.
7. Training and Placement Cell along with the Counselling
Cell arranged a talk on Overseas Education offered by
MAXXCELL. The T.E. Students from Computer,
Mechanical, Civil and ETC attended the session. The talk
was organized on Monday 17th February and on Thursday
27th February 2020. The talk was delivered by Ms. Anjali
Mehta, MAXXCELL Overseas manager and Ms. Anisha
Shanon Pires. They spoke about education available in
USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Germany. The
students asked questions regarding the courses, schemes
and job opportunities.
8. The Training and Placement Cell of Don Bosco College of
Engineering arranged a talk on Higher Education – MBA
perspective for the Final Year Engineering Students from
Computer, Mechanical, Civil and Electronics &
Telecommunication. The talk was organized on
Wednesday, 26th February 2020 at the campus. The talk
was delivered by Ms. Suchitra from IIBS, a MBA college

from Bangalore. The resource person spoke about why
MBA is good option after completion of Engineering and
the need in industry for engineers with MBA degree. She
also spoke about how MBA imparts leadership qualities
and team management skills. The students asked
questions regarding fees and placements. The talk ended
with Dr. Shreyas Simu, Asst. TPO presenting letter of
appreciation to the Professional Learning Institute.
9. The Training and Placement Cell of Don Bosco College of
Engineering arranged a talk on schemes and tranining
offered by Ministry of micro, small and medium scale
enterprises (MSME). The Second year and Third year
Engineering Students from Computer, Mechanical, Civil
and Electronics & Telecommunication attended the talk
and video session. The talk was organized on Wednesday,
26th February 2020 at the campus. The talk was
delivered by Mr. P.P. Kulkarni, Asst. Director of MSME,
Goa. He spoke about entrepreneurship and job creation
in growing digital India. He spoke how MSME can help in
setting up an enterprise for young aspiring students. Two
videos were showed to students which imparted the
information of various schemes of MSME. The students
asked interesting questions regarding courses, schemes
and job opportunities. The talk ended with Rev. Fr.
Kinley D‟Cruz, Director of the college, presenting a letter
of appreciation to Mr. P.P. Kulkarni.
10. The Training and Placement Cell of Don Bosco College of
Engineering organized an online webinar on the topic
„Career in Engineering‟. This webinar targeted students
of class 10th, 11th, 12th and their parents. The objective
of the webinar was to help aspiring students to acquire a
challenging engineering career in life. Online webinar
session was conducted on Webex video conferencing

platform on 26th May 2020 from 4 PM to 5:30 PM. The
number of registrations received was 35 out of which 3
were parents and rest were students between the age
group of 15-17 years. Registrations were received from
various locations such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolhapur,
Sawantwadi apart from cities of Goa. Prof. Avila Naik was
the Moderator of the event and Dr. Shreyas Simu was the
Event co-ordinator.
11. With overwhelming response for previous event and
requests from participants the Training and Placement
Cell of Don Bosco College of Engineering organized
second online webinar on the topic „Career in Engineering
2.0‟. This webinar targeted prospective students of class
10th, 11th, 12th as well as diploma and their parents.
The objective of the webinar was to help aspiring
students to acquire a challenging engineering career in
life. Online webinar session was conducted on Webex
video conferencing platform on 8th June 2020 from 11:30
AM to 1:00 PM. The numbers of registrations received
were 20 out of which 5 were parents and rest were
students between the age group of 15-19 years.
Registrations were received from various cities of Goa.
Prof. Avila Naik was the Moderator of the event and Dr.
Shreyas Simu was the Event co-ordinator.

2. Alumni Activities
1. The Civil Engineering department organized an Alumni
talk for Final Year Civil Engineering students on 26
September 2019 at the institute. Mr. Akshay Gaad
(Alumnus-2015) conducted the session. Mr. Akshay spoke
to the students on scopes of Civil Engineering after
graduation. He shared his experience working at GSIDC
where he supervised for various road works carried out by
them.
2. The Alumni Committee organized an Alumni Talk on
Benefits of a Netscaler and Importance of Basics in Job
Placements for the Second Year Computer Engineering
Students on Wednesday, 31 July 2019 at the institute.
Alumnus, Mr. Samuel Crasto, Batch 2019, Computer
Engineering spoke on the benefits of a Netscaler. He
emphasized on the importance of learning and
remembering the basics for Job Placements.
3. The Alumni Committee organized an Alumni Talk on Tips
on Building a Successful Career for the Final Year
Computer Engineering Students on Tuesday, 13 August
2019 at the institute. Alumnus, Mr. Joshua Salema, Batch
2016, Computer Engineering spoke on the various latest
softwares used in the industry. He provided inputs on
how to be ready for the industry.
4. The Alumni Committee organized an Alumni Talk on
Career Options after Mechanical Engineering for the Final
Year Mechanical Engineering Students on Wednesday, 14
August 2019 at the institute. Alumnus, Mr. Suhail Khan,
Batch 2015, Mechanical Engineering, Gold Medalist &
Topper at the Goa University narrated his journey from a
student to Assistant Manager, Business Development at
Flipkart.

3. I&E-Cell Activities
1. On 26 August 2019, the Goa State Innovation Council
(GSInC) in association with I&E-Cell organized a BOOT
CAMP on Innovation at Don Bosco College of Engineering –
Fatorda. The event began with an address by Mr. Sudip
Faldesai, Project Officer at GSInC, in which he introduced
the concept of innovation to the students and how the
national innovation council which is a part of Government
of India, aims to create a system in order to encourage
young talent and ideas and boost the innovation in the
state. Ms. Farheen Sayyed, too was the speaker for the
camp.
2. Three days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) for
Second Year Engineering students of Computer
Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering
and Final Year Students of Electronics &
Telecommunication Engineering was held from 23 to 25
January 2020. Entrepreneurship Development Institute of
India (EDII) under the DST-NIMAT Project sponsored the
camp.
3. I&E-Cell organized three days Entrepreneurship
Awareness Camp (EAC) for the Government Polytechnic
Students from 27 to 29 February 2020 at Government
Polytechnic, Curchorem.
