A copy of the letter to Governor Pence may be found HERE. The LUM Campaign for Hoosier Families encourages you to get involved with this and other issues impacting families and children in the State of Indiana particularly Tippecanoe and surrounding counties. For information on how you may get involved in Legislative Advocacy, click HERE. To view the LUM Bill Watch List, a list of legislation that the LUM Campaign for Hoosier Families is watching, click HERE. If your total family income is less than $62,000 LUM is offering a way for you to file your own taxes for free—saving you time & money. Through the MyFreeTaxes website, you may file your federal and state taxes—it is easy, safe, secure and 100% free. The MyFreeTaxes Partnership campaign is now in its seventh year. Since its inception, the online and in-person tax preparation and filing services have helped millions of families claim billions in tax credits and refunds since 2009. Offering free English and Spanish tax support, MyFreeTaxes provides qualifying filers access to tax coaches for in-person, self-preparation assistance. The online tool allows taxpayers to self-file for free using a simple step-by-step process that includes free telephone, email and online chat support from IRS-certified specialists. To use MyFreeTaxes, click HERE. LUM Immigration Clinic in partnership with Ayuda y Aprende offers Spanish Conversation Tables, a weekly, lunch-time series — free and open to the public. The weekly program will return from winter break on Wednesday, February 10 from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Lifelong learners will gather each week in the conference room at the LUM Office (420 N 4th St., Lafayette) during their lunch hour to learn and improve their conversational Spanish and connect with their Spanish speaking neighbors. Purdue Row-A-Thon 2016 is schedule for: Saturday, February 6 | 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tippecanoe Mall, Lafayette (inside near Macys) Each year, the Purdue Rowing Team sponsors Row-A-Thonin support of the LUM Good Samaritan Fund. FYI—LUM Board Action—December 2015

At the December 2015 meeting of the LUM Board of Director, it was decided that Indiana should “welcome Syrian refugees to Indiana and...grant them the same temporary assistance provided other refugees until they find employment and become acclimated to their new home.” On January 5, 2016, a letter was sent to the Honorable Governor Mike Pence sharing this information.

First United Methodist Church presents the 4th Annual Music Ministries Concert — in support of LUM — 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 21 at First United Methodist Church (1700 SR 26W, West Lafayette).
