annual report academic year 2016-17
TRANSCRIPT
Dear Sponsors, Supporters of Srivali High School
The Academic Year 2016-17 has been an eventful one, with yet excellent performance yet again by the
Students of your School, both in the Academic sphere and the extra-curricular activities.
I feel immensely happy to inform you that the School has had a record 92.7% pass result as against the State
average of just 67.9% and the District average of 79.8%.
From being just an avenue for children to avail of Secondary education, it fills our hearts with joy to
acknowledge the long way the School has come, over the years, to be reckoned today as one of the finest
Schools in the Taluka. This has been in no small measure due to the consistent efforts of the highly
motivated faculty on the one hand and the eager and willing -to -learn attitude of the children on the other.
This ‘Get Going’ attitude owes its inspiration to the constant Guidance and Mentoring by Parama Pujya
Sadyojat Shankarashram Swamiji.
The Trustees acknowledge with pride that it is only due to the team work by the faculty, the students, YOU-
the sponsors and well-wishers and the School administration under the able Guidance of the Guru, that today
we get to see smart, well-adjusted and mature young women and men - our ex-students, quietly confident in
their own abilities, joining colleges and later, the workforce and becoming successful individuals in their
own sphere.
We have instances of our ex- students acquiring their B.Ed degree and then, returning back to our School as
valued teachers. We have instances of our ex- faculty going on to join the Government and returning as
senior Government officers in charge of Village Development. The circle is thus complete. In a few years’
time I am sure more and more of the School’s alumni will start occupying positions of eminence in their
chosen field and the rate at which our students are excelling, we will not have to wait too long!
Apart from the Srivali High School managed by the Srivali Trust, the following Entities are also very closely
affliliated to the Shri Chitrapur Math :
1. The Saraswat Education Society, Mangaluru which runs the Ganapathy High School group of
institutions which includes a Pre-University College in Mangaluru, Parijnan College of Science &
Commerce and the newly begun Primary school- Parijnanashram Vidyalay at Kotekar, near
Mangaluru.
2. Guruprasad Education Society High School at Mallapur
3. Shree Trust, which manages a Special School in Virar, Mumbai, which focuses on tailor-made
education for the differently abled (both physical and mental), continues to do exemplary work as
always.
4. Karla Education Society which runs the Parijnanashram Vidyalaya at Karla in Maharashtra.
Anandashram Vidyalaya - a primary school (KG to 7th Standard/Grade) in Shirali run by the Karnataka
Education Department with assistance from the Math, is one of the feeder schools as are several other
Primary schools from Shirali and the adjoining areas.
We once again acknowledge with gratitude the support of the Chitrapur Heritage Fund, USA and the
Kulkarni Foundation, USA, the Jaypriya Foundation,Australia and numerous individual members of our
Chitrapur Saraswat samaja who have, year after year, whole-heartedly supported the Srivali High School
through sponsorship of students and financial support for infrastructure- enhancements undertaken at the
School.
Your School continues to not only provide free education, but also equips all the students with free uniforms
and books and a nutritious mid-day meal. Solar lamps are supplied free to students of the 9th & 10th standard
to ensure that they can study at home, even when there are power outages.
On behalf of the Trustees of Srivali Trust, I take great pleasure in presenting the School’s Annual Report for
the year 2016-17 and take this opportunity to thank all of you for your unstinted support and encouragement.
With warm regards,
Praveen Kadle

A) Governance
Yet another satisfactory and successful year for the School. The School retains its position as one of
the leading schools in Bhatkal Taluka and the Uttara Kannada District.
The students continued to excel in both their academic as well as in the extra- curricular activities
such as sports, performing arts, dramatics and other cultural events.
The School has achieved 92.66% pass rate in the SSLC Board Examination.
We are very happy to inform you, that Alekal Ramchandramam a very senior and highly respected
educationist continues his ‘hands on’ involvement in the administration of the Schools managed by
Trusts affiliated to Shri Chitrapur Math.
With the Blessings of Parama Pujya Swamiji, Shri Harin Hattangady, a resident of Shirali, has set
up Vocational Training classes for 8th & 9th standard students of the School. Students of the 10th
Standard are not expected to participate since academically it is a crucial year for them. Students of
the 8th and 9th standards can voluntarily join the classes to learn carpentry, electrical and plumbing
