Introduction INTRODUCTION
The CLM Trust, Ranipet a Registered Christian Voluntary Development Organisation was established on
19.12.2007. The registered office of the Trust is functioning at # 82/33, Zion Nagar, Ranipet – 632 401.
Vellore District, Tamil Nadu, INDIA.
VISION:
Transformed individuals reflecting the likeness of God resulting in Transformed Communities that care for
children and treat the predisposed (susceptible) with dignity.
MISSION:
Committed as servants of one another to build self-sustaining communities in association with faith based
organisation through individual transformation and empowerment with emphasis on strengthening existing
infrastructure.

(i) FAMILY BASED CHILDREN DEVELOPMENT (FBCD):
The following 11 children (whose parents have a low income) were identified to receive financial assistance
providing them School Fees, Books & Note Books, Special Fees, Uniforms, School Bags and other study
materials for facilitating their education in schools in order to encourage them in their studies and personality
stature.

Their parents are uneducated and daily wage workers in shoe factories and industries in SIPCOT zone,
Ranipet. They could not pay personal attention to their children’s wholistic development. Therefore this
programme functions Monday to Friday from 6 pm to 8 pm to benefit the children on following three counts:
1. To enhance their standard of education by providing systematic tuition in all their subjects taught in
their school by qualified staff.
2. To cater to the needs of their personality development.
3. Provided Nutrition Supplements with Snacks and Milk on all days.
Mrs. D. Getciyal, Multi Purpose Worker (MPW) continues to be in charge of the 2 tuition centres providing
them spiritual nurture to build students character. The following 4 volunteers bestowed their personal care
and attention by taking regular class every day based on the syllabus as per their subjects taught in the
school to back up their standard of learning

During the period under report, the children by virtue of the special tuition, ranked 1 to 3 in their respective
classes and improved very much in areas of discipline and behaviour. In appreciation and recognition of our
efforts, the children’s parents have started contributing a nominal amount on yearly basis.
(iii) LIFE SKILL DEVELOPMENT (LSD):
The special emphasis of this programme is to develop the school dropout children to pursue technical course
for a year or two in recognised Technical Institutions to develop their skills to have better opportunities for
employment.
During the year (April, 2011 – March, 2012), under this report, the following candidates were benefited to
pursue the courses as mentioned below:

During the above period, the level of education in their respective discipline was reported to be of high
standard and there was a good change in their personality development.
v) DAY CARE CENTRE (DCC):
The Bethel Day Care Centre was started on 14.06.2009 in rented building at R.S. Nagar, Gudiyatham,
Vellore District. There were 26 children of under 5 age whose parents are working in cottage industries with
very meager wages.

The children were very active in learning the basic education through play way method, singing, story telling
with action. Special emphasis laid on their spiritual nurture for personality development. Nutrition
Supplements were provided regularly. The following staff were working in the BDCC, Gudiyatham:

1. On 07.05.2011 Youth Training Programme for the young people who undergo professional courses in
various Medical/Nursing and Technical Institution with CLM support along with volunteers serving in
CBCD tuition centres was conducted. 12 Nursing and 3 volunteers attended the programme. The CLM
Nurses Fellowship was commenced with the opening prayer by Mr. D. Amos Ebenezer Manager (Field).
Dr. Isaac Jebaraj, Former Associate Director, CMC, Vellore, Dr. Samraj, Deputy Medical
Superintendent, S.M.Hospital, Ranipet, Mrs. Sesha Allen., M.B.A., and Dr (Mrs). Suguna
Chandrasekhar were the resource persons and they emphasized the need for the professional integrity
and exemplified personal life so that they could do meaningful service to the needy and sickly people,
faithfully cheerfully and with a sense of commitment. They have decided to form a CLM NURSES
FELOWSHIP to make them self reliance. Participants have explained their future plans to serve the poor
and sick people.
2. On 20.09.2011 Formal inauguration of CBCD tuition centres at Nehru Nagar and Avarakkarai was held.
The children along with their parents participated. It was emphasized that the parents should be fully
involved in the activities of the centre and cooperate in all its development work.
3. On 23.10.2011 One day Children and Youth Retreat was held at CLM office. 47 children and 2
volunteers participated in the programme. Mr. Noble Raj, CEF, Vellore the resource person engaged
with the children amazingly with various children programme and Puppet shows. The children also did
some cultural programme. Dr. Sam Sidhartha who was also a resource person encouraged the children
to be of more useful to their family community and nation only if they study well and develop their
emotions and feelings in a right way.
4. On 09.11.2011 Professor Elizabeth Manoharan, Dept. of History, Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli
visited our CBCD tuition centre at Avarakkarai and witnessed the performance of the centre in the
development of the children holistically. They enjoyed with various cultural programmes enacted by the
children. Some children and Ms. Gomathi volunteer shared their personal testimony.
5. On 04.12.2011 CLM Nurses Fellowship (CLMNF) was conducted for the young people who undergone
the nursing course with the help of CLM for the spiritual and personality development as many of the
participant join public services on the completion of their nursing course. Dr. Isaac Jebaraj, Former
Associate Director, CMC, Vellore, Dr. Samraj, Deputy Medical Superintendent, S.M.Hospital, Ranipet
were the resource persons. Many participants thanked the CLM for magnificent help which shaped their
future life in a meaningful manner for the valuable human service they are going to do. Mr. Arun Kumar,
CLMNF Secretary, CLM was very much moved with kind and active cooperation. The members

extended to and with their continued cooperation the forum will became source of blessing to many poor
students in the days to come.
6. On 17.12.2011 The Christmas and New Year 2012 celebration for the children and Community was held
at 6 pm at the Avarakkarai Coommunity Village. All the children and the volunteers of Avarakkarai and
Nehru Nagar tuition centres. A large gathering consisting of Youth, Women and Parents participated in
the function. Mr. Amos Ebenezer, Manager (Field) started with opening prayer, Dr. R. Chandrasekhar
and Dr. Sam Sidhartha focused on the solemnity of the Christmas which was the festive peace and joy
to all mankind. Dr (Mrs). Suguna Chandrasekhar and Miss. Mercy Rani Bai, Former Principal, CSI
Beattie Memorial Teachers Training Institute (For) Women, Ranipet distributed the Christmas gift to
the children. Few parents and children shared their personal testimonies. Children did variety
entertainments and cultural programmes which were appreciated and encouraged by the community.
Mr. C. Davis Nirmalan, Manager (Admin & Finance) gave vote of thanks.
7. On 28.01.2012 A Christian/Social Worker’s Conference was held at Multipurpose Hall, S.M.Hospital,
Ranipet at 10 am. 110 Lay Leaders and Social Workers etc., particiapated in the conference. Dr. C.
Bennett Chandran., P.hd.,M.Th., an Environmental Scientist and Theologian was the resource person
and focused on various barriers of theological, social and culture spheres of of society which bard the
holistic development of mankind vis – a – vis the communal, socially and the nation. He has also
suggested various steps and solutions for the uniform and balanced society in the context of changed
world order.
8. On 11.03.2012 conducted Parents Meeting at Avarakkarai and Nehru Nagar tuition centres between
5:30 pm and 9 pm. Parents from Avarakkarai and Nehru Nagar attended the meeting and aired the
opinion and suggestion for the betterment of the centres which cater to the needs of the holistic
development of their children. They are all happy and thankful for the tuition centre in their under
privileged villages.
9. On 17.03.2012 General Medical and Dental Camp for the children of 2 tuition children was taken up at
CLM central office. Dr (Mrs). Suguna Chandrasekhar.,M.B.B.S., D.C.H., Dr. Samuel Sudhakar., B.D.S.,
and Mrs. Elizabeth Davis., Dip. in GNM., conducted the Medical Camp. 61 children of CBCD and FBCD
programmes participated the Medical Camp. Counseling about the hygienic principles and keeping of
teeth etc., were given. Some follow up and treatment were suggested and being followed in their family
with the help of their family with the help of CLM tuition.

CONCLUSION
We are grateful to God for all His grace, guidance, protection and help through out the years April 2011 –
March, 2012 with out which the activities of the Trust would not have developed to this extent.
As a result of the excellent performance of our 5 programmes many fresh proposals for starting new projects
have been coming up from some partner agencies. And they will be implemented as and when approved on
a planned manner during April, 2011 – March, 2012. We are grateful to our sponsors, Donors and Friends
who have supported our work with their fervent prayers and gracious patronage.
We record our gratitude and gratefulness to the following who have extended their help generously to carry
on our works.
