2017 ANNUAL REPORT
About Mama Ibado Charity
In the year 2011, Mr. Ahmed Jibril led other directors in establishing MIC; a non-profit
and independent organization registered in Kenya. The organization was laid on the
strong pedestal primed by the late Mama Ibado Osman Haji, who during her lifetime
focused on assisting the community in Isiolo by providing clothing, food and monetary
support. The Late Mama Ibado did this on a personal level and in her own small way
until her demise.
The organization is based in Isiolo County and works hand in hand with its sister
organization Mama Ibado Charity registered in Canada in 2014.
Goal
To alleviate poverty among seniors by providing food, through a comprehensive care
support program that seeks to secure dignity and make most basic need available to
seniors.
Objectives
• To improve nutrition and well-being of the 500 seniors through the provision of
food on a monthly basis.
• To offer support to the aged in the community who have been marginalized for
attainment of the Sustainable Development Goal Number three of eradicating hunger
and poverty in the community.
• To be advocates of the seniors by sensitizing other organizations and individuals to
provide medical services, housing and clothing to the seniors persons to ensure they

The organization embarked on two major advocacy programs to ensure that the elderly
age in healthy and dignified manner. They are; • THE ANNUAL MEDICAL CAMP FOR THE ELDERLY

THE HOUSING PROJECT
The Housing Project was initiated based on a survey
conducted by MIC to investigate the housing
conditions of its beneficiaries.
The report from the Investigation drove the
foundation to initiate a campaign known as “a roof
over my head” to create awareness of the plight of
these seniors.

2017 ANNUAL REPORT C. HOUSING PROJECT “A ROOF OVER MY HEAD CAMPAIGN”
The findings of the investigation to determine the housing conditions of beneficiaries
prompted the Organization to initiate the Housing Project. Hence, In July, 2017, the
Charity constructed three houses for three vulnerable beneficiaries. These beneficiaries
were chosen based on a criterion that their houses were in a very poor condition as well
as proof of ownership of the land. The three recipients of the housing project included:
Mr. Etom Esocon, Ms. Duba Haro, and Ms. Asha Bonaya.
MIC with support from donors plans to construct 100 houses for its neediest beneficiaries
between 2018 - 2019.

balls, clothes, shoes, toiletries, sanitary towels and books to the children. MIC also participated in the countrywide initiative of keeping the girl child in school
through the donation of one year’s supply of sanitary towels.
MIC partnered with Kakamega Forest Heritage Foundation to guarantee that the girl child
doesn’t drop out of school due to her menses. Two schools namely; Holy Cross Injira and
Lugala Primary and Secondary school in Kakamega benefited from this initiative.
