One of the leading disciples of the world-renowned Late Pandit Shri Bimalendu Mukherjee, her senstivity and erudition has taken her to the highest echelons of the modern genre, while remaining true to tradition. She has imbibed the vigor that is a hallmark of her Gharana: scintillating fast taans, mastery of the meditative alaap and brilliant fluency of melody raag bhava, all the while maintaining her technical virtuosity. Anupama has performed at major venues world-wide, received grants and is a featured artist on Radio and TV. A highly sought-after tabla accompanist, Pandit Samar Saha has had the privilege of accompanying almost all the top ranking artists of Hindustani vocal and instrumental music. Frequently featured on All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan, Samar has participated in many prestigious music conferences in India, Germany, USA and UK. Samar Saha is a full-time senior faculty member of ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata, since its very inception in 1978. Samar Saha’s initial training started under the guidance of his father Shri Sudhanshu Bhusan Saha and brother Sri Tarak Saha, (both reputed tabla artistes). His formal training started under the tutelage of Sri Satchidananda Goswami and then flowered under the able guidance of Sri Krishna Kumar Ganguly(Natubabu) of Banaras Gharana.
