Need – This is your newsletter South Coasters, content is by and from you. We

need Cover Photos, Ride Articles by Ride Leaders and any story or article that

would be of interest to membership. This can include product review, you own ride story, or? Get creative! Thanks!

Schedule – Newsletters are published as close to the 1st of each month as humanly

possible. Please submit content by the 25th of the previous month to give the editor sufficient time to compile the issue.

Formats – It would be best if written content were submitted in an editable word

processing format (.doc, .txt, .rtf, etc.), by e-mail will work just fine. Photographs should be in .jpg format and less than 500 Kb in size. Thank you - Editor

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE By Brandon Wilson

Happy mid-Summer South Coasters! As I take the reins of this motley crew of motorcycle enthusiasts, I consider myself privileged to have such a great opportunity and big shoes to fill in the shadow of John C! As we kick off the 2018/19 motorcycle season there is one very important message which I need to ensure everyone hears:

We enjoy motorcycling because it is fun! Not to mention, doing it on some of the most impressive machines on the face of the earth with the best group of folks around! The BOD, Adam, Rob to name a few have been busy planning and working to make this year the best. Thank you to everyone who participated in the ride planning meeting and to our new BOD. South Coaster Ladies, let’s not forget to thank Beth for hosting and attending the Ladies Luncheon on Saturday the 11th Karl, Sharon and Chris are getting us kicked off with an August event (18th, 19th) Camping and Hotel adventure for dirt lovers as well as pavement eaters in the San Bernardino mountains and exciting events stacking up over the next several months. Check out the calendar and Facebook/Instagram pages for more information. Don’t forget to use the Ride List for signing up for overnight events and making it less like herding cats for your ride host. Have a great August and ride safe! See you out there on the road. Annual South Coaster Club Picnic July 8, 2018 Beginning this month, you all will not only have The President’s Message, but an Ex-President’s Message! How exciting! This month, I get to criticize everything Mr. Wilson does. Next month, we’ll have another ex-President throw his cookies in. (Just kidding, unless there is popular demand). Actually, I just wanted to thank all members for putting up with me for the last two years. I can be a PITA (just ask Beth), but mostly mean well. So, THANK YOU! Insofar as the Picnic, we had a great time! I got there at the crack of 6:45 a.m. to grab a good spot (as it turned out, I could have waited a couple of hours). And, it was pretty nice------a fair amount of shade, grassy, and although it turned warm, it was all right. We of course had plenty of darn good appetizers, sides, and desserts, courtesy of all who brought stuff to share. Thanks to Bill R. for bringing a couple of ice chests; Karl and Sharon for bringing the corn-hole game; Rick for bringing his ball glove; and Bob and Diane for putting together the mileage contest presentation. Membership Update Greetings South Coasters, I thought it might be nice to do an occasional membership update in our newsletter. I’ll share the latest membership stats as well as items of interest that members might want to share with the Club … you know, like a trip to Bumsquat, Iowa to visit Aunt Bessie or an adventure on your yacht to Alaska or … maybe not, let’s see where it goes. Please send any items you might have to me at CWRoady@gmail.com. In July I took over the Membership portfolio from Jessie Vaca. My thanks to Jessie for such a clean transition of data, notifications, communications, etc. It has also become much more obvious to me how much behind the scenes work Rick Catarineau does for all of us as our Web Master. For the membership piece of things alone he has numerous interactions processing, tracking and com-municating membership renewals, new members, etc. Thank you Rick. Since July has been my first month, I am not certain how typical these stats are yet, but here is where our club membership stands as of July 26, 2018: Total Membership = 107 Renewed Membership in July = 17 New Membership in July = 8 Expired Membership Pending Renewal 17 * 3 of those in July In the spirit of items of interest for these updates, one of our renewing members in July is Anthony Cambonga. Anthony is currently deployed in Afghanistan until next June. I am confident I speak for every member of the SCBMWRC Anthony, when I give you our sincere thanks for your service. Looking forward to seeing you at our July 2019 Club Meeting! We received several of the new member questionnaires back this month so please read and enjoy them. I hope our new and existing members come on out to more of our Club meetings and rides this year, we have a great time and a number of you on the membership roles are missing out! Chris Roady

go that fast
