1988 - FIRST TRIPAnne’s first assignment is still one of her most memorable. She gave multiple messages to a conference of over 600 pastors in Suva, Fiji. The response was at revival level. But the highlight was a women’s meeting she insisted on leading, where participants walked barefooted for miles in order to attend, sat on barrels and boxes in a storage room, and listened eagerly to God’s Word.

During the first year of AnGeL Ministries, Anne held a seminar at the brand new Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove. The seminar, entitled Filling Up to Overflow, lived up to its name and was so successful she has held it under various themes every year since.

AnGeL Ministries was established on June 2, 1988, and thus our journey of obedient faith began. We have deeply desired to be Spirit-led, which has required making prayer a priority. Two prayer teams of women who pray daily and meet weekly are currently active. Three of the fourteen women have been faithfully praying since the beginning over 30 years ago. Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord.

Just as God had promised, He began sending Anne into the world. Literally. She has now held meetings on every continent except Antartica. Her first of three tours of South Africa, hosted by St. James Church in Cape Town, took place the second year of AnGeL Ministries.

Shortly after Anne’s first book was published, Jack Countryman approached Anne and agreed to republish a volume that has been used in Anne’s family for generations, Daily Light. Anne’s grandmother gave her mother a copy of Daily Light when she was 10 years old, living in China. Anne’s mother gave Anne a copy of Daily Light when she turned 10. Anne gave each of her own children a copy of Daily Light on their tenth birthdays. And Anne’s daughter has given her children copies of Daily Light when they turned ten.

1996While Anne had self-published Bible studies, her first published book was The Vision of His Glory: Finding Hope in the Revelation of Jesus Christ. It was also the first of four of her 16 books to receive the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association Gold Medallion Award.

One of Anne’s first national television opportunities was an interview on Larry King Live. It went so well that she was invited back on his show multiple times. She subsequently received invitations to appear regularly on ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX News talk shows.

After twelve years of traveling the world to share God’s Word in a variety of settings to multiple audiences, God called Anne to hold Just Give Me Jesus Revivals in arenas throughout the United States and the world. The primary purpose was to cause those who attended to experience personally a fresh touch from Heaven. The very first one was held free of charge in the Thompson-Bowling Arena in Knoxville, TN. The revival chairpersons raised enough money to not only pay for the first revival, but also helped pay for the next one in Dallas/Fort Worth, which gave us a financially strong launch.

2000 - REVIVALS

The release of Anne’s book, Just Give Me Jesus, was divinely arranged to coincide with the first revival by the same name. The combination launched the book almost immediately into first place on the ECPA bestseller list where it remained for weeks.

2000 - BEST SELLER

The staff of AnGeL Ministries began working from their homes. Then we moved to a church. In 2000, we bought our office building where we work from today.

2000 - 5115 HOLLYRIDGE

Time magazine sent their religion editor, David Van Biema, to cover the first Just Give Me Jesus revival. As a result of the article that followed, many media outlets picked up the news and helped promote subsequent revivals.

At the urging of the leadership of Just Give Me Jesus/San Diego, we returned to offer a three-day Breakaway entitled A Passionate Pursuit. Emceed by Priscilla Shirer, with Fernando Ortega leading worship, Jill Briscoe taking us deeper in prayer, and Anne challenging us to pursue Jesus by going deeper into His Word, it was the first of many powerful retreats offered in revival cities.

2003 - BREAKAWAYS

God seemed to speak to Anne through Zechariah 4:10 not to despise the day of small things. Shortly after, she had the opportunity to go on national radio with sixty-second spots. The ministry decided to make an initial investment for production. The result is that Anne records the daily spots in the AnGeL Ministries studio, which are now heard as Daily Light for Daily Living, on over 664 radio outlets in 48 states and 11 countries free of charge to the ministry.

Anne increasingly became focused on revival within the church. She was invited to hold the first of multiple church-wide revivals entitled I Saw The LORD, in Maranatha Chapel, San Diego, CA.

While several of Anne’s Bible studies have been published as video curricula that can be used privately or in a group setting at home or in church, the I Saw The LORD Bible study curriculum included Henry Blackaby and Crawford Loritts. Our ministry team used it in an all-day breakaway at the office, with powerfully effective results.

2009In 2009 and again in 2011, Anne had the privilege of being invited to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, as a world religious leader.

2009 - WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM

With the arrival of Anne’s three granddaughters, her attention was drawn to the spiritual needs of children in a fresh way. In 2011 she published a book for children, Heaven: God’s Promise for Me, with the express purpose of leading little ones to Jesus. It was quickly followed by a Bible study video curriculum, co-authored by her daughter, Rachel-Ruth Wright, and aimed at effectively helping children get into God’s Word.

As Anne’s burden for revival grew heavier, she asked Joel Rosenberg to join her for a national simulcast, A Wake-Up Call for God’s People. Over 200 churches signed on to join by live stream as Anne and Joel challenged them to return to the Cross, repent of sin, and recommit their lives to Jesus.

So when Joel Rosenberg invited her to be one of the speakers at his conference in downtown Jerusalem, she eagerly accepted. Little did she know at the time that God would open the door for her to return to Israel multiple times in the years that followed.

Anne and her daughter, Rachel-Ruth, had one of their first opportunities to share a platform when they were invited by Cathe Laurie to be the main speakers at a women’s conference hosted by Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, CA.

2012 - MINISTRY WITH RACHEL-RUTH

In 2012 Anne made the decision to stay closer to home in order to care for her husband, who was in declining health. But she did not feel released from ministry, so turned her attention to radio, videos, an updated website that was transformed from a magazine format to a ministry platform, a mobile app, and an increasingly robust online presence.

At the urging of multiple people, Anne accepted an invitation to conduct ten days of intense ministry and training entitled Rooted in MORE of Jesus, for the purpose of encouraging and equipping the leadership of the church in Uganda. It was followed by a video Bible study curriculum that was distributed by Far Reaching Ministries.

Our Just Give Me Jesus Revival in Indianapolis was supported by the local churches, community leaders, and the governor at the time, Mike Pence. This turned out to be our last revival. With the untimely death of our beloved revival director, Caryn Lavin, we felt God closing the door to this aspect of our ministry.

Anne led 80 people on her first tour through His Land. As the participants boarded the buses to go to the airport for their flight home, one man turned to Anne and said he had begun the tour as a tourist, but he was going home a disciple!

As so often happens, when God closes one door He opens another. So as He closed the door to arena revivals, He opened the door to a weekly, thirty-minute radio broadcast entitled Living in the Light. It is now heard on 329 radio outlets in 36 states and 5 countries.

In 2014 100,000 likes confirmed Anne’s decision to give her attention to social media. It has now grown to over 4 times that number.

Staying home caring for Danny gave Anne opportunity to slow down and consider world events with a fresh vision. The result was a burden for prayer that launched our first online initiative, 777: An Urgent Call to Prayer. Over 120,000 people signed up to receive Anne’s prayers so we could all pray “together” with one heart and one voice in the 7th month (July), each day of the first week, for one hour each day. Over the next two years, this initiative was followed by four others.

On August 19, 2015, Anne’s husband of 49 years moved to Heaven, our Father’s House. The celebration of his life and legacy was attended by over 1500 people, while also live streamed with 6,600 people tuning in. It has been viewed multiple times since on our website, as an incredible glimpse of a man of God who invested in the lives of others.

A revamp of our website included not only a more user-friendly site, but also a place where Anne began writing and posting her blogs. Her latest blog, posted in September, reached hundreds of thousands of people on Facebook and was liked by thousands more on Instagram.

2016In 2016, we partnered with Faith Comes By Hearing to offer an online audio Bible reading in 1000 languages entitled 888: God Speaking. During August 1-8, for one hour each day, tens of thousands of people listened to Anne as she introduced, explained, and concluded the reading of each passage.

2017God divinely orchestrated that Anne’s 16th book, which focuses on Daniel’s prayer in chapter 9, was released within one week of the announcement of her chairmanship of the National Day of Prayer. It made several best-seller lists and was followed by a video Bible study series that was filmed in Anne’s home. Over 75,000 people registered to participate when Zondervan offered it online for a limited time.

2017 - BOOKS

In 2014 Anne served as the honorary chair for the National Day of Prayer. Two years later, and seven months after Danny went to Heaven, Shirley Dobson asked Anne to be the National Chair. After much prayer and fasting, Anne agreed. Under her leadership, the national observance was moved from an office building to Statuary Hall inside our nation’s capital. She served in this position for approximately 16 months before a reorganization eliminated the need for her position.

2017 - NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

Although God had closed the door on Anne’s leadership in the National Day of Prayer, He opened another one in India. In 2018 Anne accepted an invitation issued by a group of Indian pastors and leaders to speak at their National Day of Prayer held on the parade grounds in Hyderabad, India. It was officially estimated that over 500,000 people attended and heard her challenge to pray more effectively.

Later that same year God opened the door for Anne to speak at the Israeli Knesset, and also to address two different times the hundreds of delegates who came to Jerusalem from over 650 countries around the world for the 2nd Annual Prayer Breakfast to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

On August 17, 2018, Anne received the diagnosis that she has breast cancer. She was immediately filled with peace, joy, and the conviction that in some way, this is her new ministry assignment from the Lord. We have yet to see how things will unfold, but the outpouring of love, support and prayers from tens of thousands of people around the world is immensely encouraging. We are all standing on tiptoe in our spirits to see how God will use this new assignment for His glory.
