Beloit Businesses “Share The Love”Demonstrating once again the generosity of the Greater Beloit community, a number of Beloit businesses
pooled their collective food items to help Beloit Meals On Wheels create their very own “Blizzard Boxes”. We ex-tend our appreciation to Hormel for the microwaveable entrees (Scalloped Potatoes & Ham and Chicken with Veg-etables and Rice Soup); Culver’s of Beloit for the soup crackers; Kerry Ingredients and Flavours for cereal; WildAsceptic for the Capri Juices, monetary donation from Calpine Riverside Energy Center for fruits and desserts; andNorth Atlantic Specialty Bag Co. for the packing boxes.
Representatives of these various businesses met as well to package all of the “Blizzard Boxes”, which are to beused in case of extreme inclement weather or a power outage. “While we pride ourselves on our incredible deliveryrecord, these “Blizzard Boxes” help our clients to be prepared, as everyone should, in case of an emergency,” notesBeloit Meals On Wheels Executive Director, Marcy Berner-Reedy.
“Not only were we able to save money with these local donations, but the project was submitted to Meals OnWheels Association of America as a part of their Subaru Share The Love campaign,” adds Berner-Reedy, “and wewere recently awarded a $1,200.00 grant for this effort!”
