Founder’s BioMr. Apolinario Pateguana is a Mozambican born entrepreneur with background in management, with over 12 years of business experience in the region, responsi-ble for launching a number of successful companies in multiple sectors in Mozambique. He co-founded and serves as chair-man of Africa Prepaid Services Mozambique, a Mobile Service Provider company launched in Mozambique in 2005. Mr. Pate-guana co-founded Emotel, the founding local partner of Vodacom Mozambique, where he has since served as a non-executive director, providing continuous insight to management on strategic affairs. He also helped establish Brolaz Mozambique, a Telecoms Infra-structure company that was instrumental in rolling out the first phases of the Vodacom Mozam-bique Network Infrastructure. Founded Tristar Car Rental, which later merged with Buscor to

form The Bus Corporation, a lead-ing provider of transport services in Mozambique. Serves as an executive director at Capitol Ser-vices Mozambique, a remote site services company he helped launch in 2008. He is a member of the fiscal counsel at Opportunity Bank Mozambique and holds several directorships in major companies, besides being a member of the Southern African Institute of Directors, the Mozam-bique-Portugal chamber of com-merce. He holds a degree in Busi-ness Management from the Maha-rishi University of Management, in Fairfield Iowa, USA.

The oldest division in the company and the foundation since inception, consisting of wholly owned and operated businesses as well as non-controlled investments.

By virtue of its 40% shareholding in Emotel, AP Capital is a 2% shareholder and founding partner of Vodacom Mozambique, the fastest growing mobile operator in the country with 45% market share

and over 4 million clients. Established in 2003, Vodacom is a subsidiary of Vodafone.

Wholly owned and operated, Companhia do Prepago is an aggregated distributor of all non-mobile prepaid products and provider of payment collection services for prepaid and subscription based

services. Established in 2011, it offers an effective distribution platform for multiple paperless prepaid products such as prepaid electricity, Internet vouchers, Cable and satellite TV subscriptions.

AP Capital Holds 40% shareholding in Brolaz Mozambique, a turnkey Network infrastructure provider for Telecoms, responsible for bulk of Vodacom Mozambique’s network infrastructure

deployment. Established in 2003, Brolaz is a subsidiary of South African based Brolaz Projects (Pty) Ltd, with operations in several African countries.

Wholly owned and operated, Africa Prepaid Services is a Mobile Service provider and wholesaler of prepaid airtime, responsible for introducing bulk electronic distribution in Mozambique, with

nationwide distribution footprint and over 1 million subscribers connected. Established in 2005 as a Joint Venture with JSE listed Blue label Telecoms, it was acquired by AP Capital in 2009.

Vision

The Logistics division is the fastest growing in the company, having started with the integration of Fleet management in 2008 and subsequently expanding into site services, Industrial Catering, Camp Construction and Management.

AP Capital holds a 40% minority stake stake in this Site services company specializing in fully integrated remote site solutions, including Camp site Construction, camp management, industrial catering, laundry, cleaning and security services. CSM was launched in 2008, having successfully serviced major clients in

the Mining and manufacturing sectors. It is a jointly managed partnership, with South African based Capitol Caterers (Pty) Ltd.

AP Capital holds a 30% minority stake in this joint venture company with Buscor (Pty) Ltd from South Africa, dedicated to providing staff transport services. The company caters to labour inten-sive clients operating in strategic sectors such as mining, oil, gas and Manufacturing. This joint Venture has given birth to one of the largest companies in its segment, with capacity to transport

over 6000 people.

Vision

This division focuses on sourcing and packaging attractive investment opportunities in non-core sectors, incorporating an element of corporate advisory, which is a major source of deal flow for private equity transactions.

AP Capital partners advises businesses seeking expansion capital or equity based financing for major projects, by attracting interest from global financial institutions. This exercise inspired the AP Capital

Fund concept, which aims to raise a major fund with total capital commitments of USD 100 million and a minimum investment of USD 50 million to make privately negotiated equity and equity-related invest-

ments in ventures with reputable and experienced operating partners.

Mine Ink Mozambique

For mining projects, AP Capital partners holds a 24% of Mine Ink Mozambique, a mining exploration company, subsidiary of Mine Ink Holdings, with a portfolio of exploration licenses in areas of established potential for Iron Ore, Phosphates, rare earths and Coal, totalling 112.000 hectares of captive land in the

north and southern Mozambique.

AP Capital holds a controlling stake in this partnership with Mozambican firms Msquared Ltd and Tupann Ltd, as a “De Facto” Investment arm and corporate advisory unit, dedicated to

identifying and structuring non-core transactions in key sectors.
