    BRIEF NOTE ONA.P. MEAT DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LIMITED

    The A.P. Meat and Poultry Development Corporation wasestablished on 31.10.1977 Vide G.O.Ms.No.795, Forest & Rural

    Development dated 26.10.1977. The Government based on therecommendation of Subramanyam Committee constituted a CabinetSub-Committee to restructure A.P.S. M.P.D.C.L.

    The recommendations of the Sub-Committee were:-

    To continue the Meat activity confining to theestablishment of Modern Abattoirs and ConsultancyServices in the State.

    To rename the Corporation as A.P.M.D.C.

    Accordingly, the Corporation was renamed as A.P.M.D.C. on2.3.2000 and the Construction of Modern Abattoir Project;Chengicherla was completed and was put to operation on 1.1.2004.

    Since, the Municipal Corporation Hyderabad has not comeforward to takeover the Modern Abattoir Project, Chengicherla, it isbeing maintained by the APMDCL. Proposals to privatize the MAP,Chengicherla is under active consideration of the Government.

    FINANCIAL POSITION OF THE CORPORATION;

    The Corporation has authorized share capital of Rs.10 croresand paid up capital is Rs.6.87 crores and share deposit of Rs.23.55crores. The accrued loss of the corporation as on 31.3.2006 isRs.15.06 crores.

    The Corporation is having assets worth of Rs 49.75 Croresand whereas the liabilities of the corporation is Rs.9.14crores(approx).

    The Annual accounts for the year 2003-04 was completedin all aspects. The Statutory Audit for the year 2004-05 isin progress.

    The Honble Chief Minister, Govt of A.P. was pleased to

    announce the Reconstitution of A.P. Sheep and Goat DevelopmentCooperative Federation Ltd., by absorbing A.P. Meat DevelopmentCorporation Ltd., along with all its assets, liabilities and the presentstaff working with it in the review meeting held on 14.6.2005. Themodalities are being worked out.

    Introduction

    1.1 Background

    The prime object of this hand book is to provide for citizens to secure toaccess to information.

    1.2 Objective /Purpose:

    i) To maintain transparency on the activities of the Organization.

    ii) To provide requisite information to the public in the matters of

    public interest.

    1.3 Intended users of the handbook

    i. All the Industries / Public who intend to use the facilities provided atModern Abattoir Project of the Corporation.

    ii. All butchers Qureshis and who wish to utilize the slaughter facilitiesof APMDCL.

    iii. All general public and departments/Institutions who wish to know

    the slaughter / meat development activities in AP State.

    iv. All the general public who wants to avail the facilities available inModern Abattoir Project taken up by the Corporations.

    v. All the Institutions /Departments who want to avail the consultancyServices of the Corporation.
