APCNDT started in 1976 with the first conference being held in Japan. Over the last three decades, APCNDT has made considerable progress andhas provided the international forum for highlighting the accomplishments in the field of non-destructive testing. The Pacific Committee on NonDestructive Testing comprises of 14 regular member countries and 6 supporting member countries from the Asia Pacific region. Its main objectivesare to advance science and engineering related to non destructive testing in Asian and Pacific coastal countries by dissemination of information,encouraging research and to organize conferences devoted to mutual understanding among scientific and technical NDT experts. The Asia PacificNDT Conference is held every four years, the last one was held in Yokohama, Japan in November 2009.

Dear Colleagues and Friends in the World of NDT

It is my honour and privilege as Chairman of ICNDT and an Honorary Member of ISNT to encourage and welcome yourparticipation in the 14th APCNDT in Mumbai.

The Asia Pacific Committee are important contributors to ICNDT and of course the Indian Society (ISNT) organised thelargest ever World Conference (14th WCNDT) in 1996.

It is not too soon to begin to plan your own personal involvement in the 14th APCNDT. You may want to sponsor one of theevents, present your business in the large exhibition, give a paper, organise a workshop, participate in the conference, learn how to set up an NDTSociety, or meet professional colleagues from all around the globe. as well as soaking up the atmosphere in India's vibrant financial capital.

ICNDT will hold important meetings and Workshops during the conference and there will be a strong international participation in the event.

thespecially in this decade. 14 APCNDT with its theme of Excellence with relevance would focus on the recent developmentsand applications in NDE and also the frontiers of basic and applied research and their applications.

thNDE in India took a giant leap after the successful 14 World Conference under the leadership of Dr. Baldev Raj and I am sure

ththat the 14 APCNDT would again provide a paradigm shift. A strong Indian team has been put in place for making this yetanother milestone event in the history of APCNDT. I am sure that with all your support, we would have a large dynamic

thgathering during 14 APCNDT. Our target is 1000 delegates and a minimum of 70 exhibitors.

Abstracts should be submitted on-line at the Conference Website. These will be presented during the parallel oralsessions and poster sessions. In addition, there will be Plenary and Invited talks by eminent speakers from India and abroad sharing their richexperience in various fields of non-destructive testing & evaluation. Sector specific sessions on NDT in various industries such as: Power, Oil & Gas,Chemical, Heavy Engineering, Metals, Aviation, Automobiles & Railways, Nuclear, Space & Defence, Construction, Shipping etc. will be conductedduring the conference.
