    POSITION TITLE: Assistant Production Manager, KDT

    REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Production Manager, KDT

    DIRECT REPORTS: none

    WORK SCHEDULE: Full-Time, varies to include evenings & weekends

    STATUS: non-exempt, full benefits

    POSITION SUMMARY: The primary goals of this position will be to assist the Production

    Manager in the daily running of the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City, and act as Lead

    Production Manager for Kirk Douglas Theatre outside rentals/events.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Maintain updated season calendar for KDT, and assist the Production Manager in craftingtech and load-in and -out schedules.

    Provide production support for rehearsal and performance periods as needed; remain onsite at the theatre for load in, tech and preview weeks, in rotation with other members ofthe production staff.

    Assist the Production Manager on production budgeting and expense tracking; maintainproduction budgets and assist in the timely reporting of production expenses.

    Assist the Production Manager on all designer contracts; maintain and track Designer andAssistant contracts, fee payments, relationship with USA-829, pension and welfare

    payments, and designer reimbursements. Process KDT Production hourly employees payroll, and track in PO system. Process

    new hire startwork. Distribute paychecks.

    Attend production meetings; record, distribute and archive production meeting notes asneeded.

    Act as Lead Production Manager on KDT rental/ outside events. Manage production needs for workshops rehearsing in LA and NY as needed. Arrange trucking and drivers for load in/out weeks as well as special events. Interface with Press Department regarding program proofing and staff credits, as well as

    helping to schedule photo calls.

    Interface with Marketing Department regarding Designer names for ads/posters, openingnight tickets, and special needs for Project D.A.T.E. and similar events as needed.

    Assist the Production Manager with designer, crew, shop and vendor relations. Basic archiving (photo and program books, server, reports). Work with Production Administrator to facilitate and track equipment check in/out from

    CTGs warehouse facility.

    Monitor and enforce safety in all situations, especially when dealing with or supervisingwork crews.

    Become a member of the Production Managers Forum, attend annual meetings whenpossible, and act as CTG liaison.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum requirements:

    Required: Prior experience and working knowledge of technical theatre and productionmanagement Experience with a theatrical organization

    Preferred: Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre or equivalent professional experience Well-organized Proven track record of ability to multi-task and work with deadlines Ability to remain calm and productive in crisis situations Good people skills and a sense of humor

    Knowledge and essential skills

    Strong Computer skills; Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Outlook. FilemakerNotes
