This week we discussed…

As you know every Christmas we have a

special tea party for our Grandparents. We discussed ways of raising money…

We decided to have a cinema club for Years 1,2 & 3. They will pay £1.50p to

take a trip aboard the Polar Express after school.

We hope to raise a lot of money to buy lots of food

and raffle prizes.

Letters will be going out next week to

invite Grandmas and Grandads, so don’t

forget to ask!

Philippines CAFOD Appeal

Catholics in England and Wales have responded with enormous generosity

to the Philippines Typhoon Haiyan appeal, donating more than £1 million

so far …

What did we do to show we care?

The School Council held a coffee morning inviting parents to come to a coffee

morning for drinks and cakes. A total of £400 was sent in the end to CAFOD.

(CAFOD is the charity we normally send all money raised for help overseas disasters). Money is still coming in so we are sending another cheque next week. Thank you so

much

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD 2013

Thank you to all for your ‘Shoe boxes’. We

managed to get 155 boxes. Be happy in

knowing you have made a big difference to another

child's Christmas!

We discuss all matters brought to the meeting. Each class

representative reads out the post- its you have written. We

decide whether we should action it (do something about it or not)

as a group.

We listen to all you have to say but some things we discuss and decide we can’t really do anything about it. Someone

asked if we could have a swimming pool or extra long play times every day, it

can’t really happen. You always ask if we can have more toys at play time but the

School Council feels that in the past these are never looked after.

KS2 toilets are really getting old, can we get them decorated soon?

This has been asked many times. Maddison and Dylan asked Mrs Giltinan who said she will ask

Governors.

FOOTBALL

Does football in Y 3 /4 have to be every playtime? Children say it gets in the way of play and suggest it is only on 3 days.

Mr Haskell explained that we have football everyday to ‘promote an active life style’.

Football should only take up 1/3 of the playground. It also helps keep you entertained and stops children being silly !

ANSWER

Could we have a climbing frame?

Mrs Giltinan was worried about your safety. She will think about it and talk to staff.

YOU ALL HAVE A VOICE!

IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY THEN STICK A POST-IT ON YOUR CLASS COUNCIL MEMO BOARD.

IT MIGHT MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

We are one big happy family.
