Spring is here and the weather is becoming nice. This is the most important month for Believers. It’s Resurrection Celebration month! Our Lord and Savior died and rose again for our Salvation. Every Christian every-where should be proclaiming this great news all over the earth. The world needs to know and hear again about what God has done for mankind.

We as Christians, have the first hand infor-mation and experience about Jesus Christ and His plan of Salvation and Deliverance. If there is anything the world needs now, it is a Savior, Jesus Christ, our Lord. The church has been called and commissioned to proclaim and declare that our Lord lives and reigns.

Let Easter be a time of reflection and procla-mation. Proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord and that He came to save us from a lost and hopeless condition. Before God, we were lost, but God has provided a new life and hope for us all.

In John’s gospel, chapter 8 and verse 12, Jesus said that He is the light of the world. To me, this means that if the light is not shining, then we are in the dark. Furthermore, the Word of God further also tells us that we are the light of the world. Don’t let Easter Sunday be just one day of light, but shine His light everyday. Let us be a light in a dark world, declaring that Jesus Christ is Lord! Tell of His plan of re-demption for everyone.

I pray God’s richest blessing upon you and your families in Jesus’ name. May the light of God’s Word continue to shine in your hearts by the Holy Spirit.

“Father forgive them for they know not what they do” Is what He cried out before His bodily death, While enduring undeserving agony, Still not thinking of Himself.

But brutally dying for a people So they would have so much more than earthly things to gain But forgiveness and freedom from sin and everlasting life, did He endure this punishment for you in vain?

So during this season, celebrate and acknowledge Jesus Christ For His unselfish acts of love and affection, And let’s not forget, Without the crucifixion there would be no Resurrection.

He traveled for miles, Carrying the weight of our sins and a wooden cross, All on His back to suffer crucifixion, For salvation of the lost.

Spit on, harassed Called outside His name, Everything besides the child of God, Is what the disbelievers proclaim.

Thorns around His head Nails in his hands and feet, Blood gushing from His body, His flesh severely beat.

So our souls can be saved And have everlasting life He lied on that wooden cross, His body He sacrificed.

Our very own Pastor Gary Foreman has been invited again to bring the Word to the Spirit of Baseball Camp on Satur-day, April 18th. Pastor Gary, assistant pastor at Abundant Life Church of Christ, was last year’s preacher during the voluntary Gospel message that baseball campers were in-vited to attend. Pastor Gary had met one of the organizers, Larry, through a softball league a few years ago. As a pitch-er, Pastor Gary would tease the batters, including Larry, that they couldn’t get a hit off his pitching. Gary smiled and said, “yeah, I struck him out.”

Initially a coaching volunteer during the camp’s first year in Richmond, he said, “I saw the kids smiling, kids from backgrounds where they may not get a lot of attention, and said to myself that I want to be part of this.” The next year, Larry asked him to preach. “I was going to be there any-way. I was happy to do it; I always have a Word from the Lord.”

That Saturday, Gary offered an invitation for the children to accept Christ. He saw about a dozen hands go up, yet 24 children came to him during one-on-one time to pray for salvation. “Praise

God!” he said. At the end of the day, in addition to all the goodies they received at the beginning, each camper left with a new Bible, a water bottle, some extra snacks, and an extra baseball.

Pastor Gary reflected on the impact of the Spirit of Base-ball Camp on the neighborhood. “Kids need somewhere to plug in and to feel like they belong. When you have a baseball team, you belong to something. When you belong to something, you feel more of a connection with the com-munity.” This will be his 4th year participating in this life changing event. God job Pastor G!

What Do You Hope For?

HOPE sustains you. HOPE carries you through struggles and uncertainty. HOPE is what Easter is all about. The HOPE that is found in Jesus Christ alone is the only HOPE that lasts forever. “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and thy shalt be-lieve in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, then thou shalt be saved.”

If you want this true HOPE that will last forever, perhaps you should pray this Prayer of Salvation.

Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God and that You died for me. Please come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins and cleanse me with Your pre-cious Blood. Take control of eve-ry area of my life from this mo-ment on.

Jesus, fill me with Your Holy Spirit and empower me to be used for Your glory.

I will serve You, love You and obey You all the days of my life. Empower me to make a difference in the lives of others as I share the good news of Your wonderful gift of salvation. Father, thank You for making me Your child. In Jesus’ Holy Name I pray. Amen!

The purpose of Financial Biblical Foundations is to help equip you as you live out your faith in today’s

world. Webster’s Dictionary defines founda-tion as the fundamental principal on which something is founded. Each one of us has a foundation. From it, we base everything we believe, see and do. As a Christian, our foundation is the Word of God.

It is important to build a Bib-lical foundation for our fami-lies and ourselves. In doing so, there are only two paths of life. The broad way, which most people follow, provides many foundations. (The gate to hades is very wide, and there is plenty of room on the road that leads there). God groups them together in one path that leads to destruction. Then, there is the narrow path (contracted by pressure; requires total attention; there are no short cuts), which few find. Matthew 7:13-14

Types of Foundations:

1. Commitment is the foundation for trust.

2. Communication is the foundation for a healthy relationship.

3. Christian belief is the foundation for when life happens.

4. Faith is the foundation for patience.

5. Love is a foundation for being a disciple of God.

6. Virtue is the foundation of principle and good moral being.

7. Base foundations correspond to the feet, particularly the soles of the feet of man; and in general to the bones which support all the fleshy part of the body.

5. The fifth foundation is to keep out of unneces-sary debt and thus avoid the debt trap. Proverbs 22:7

Ten Biblical Foundations:

1. The first foundation is that God is the source of everything. Philippians 4:19

2. The second foundation is that of giving. Luke 6:38

3. The third foundation is that of living on a margin. Living on a margin simple means allowing room for things to hap-pen.

4. The fourth foundation concerns saving money -setting something aside for a

rainy day. Proverbs 21:20

6. The sixth foundation is being content with what one has. Hebrews 13:5

7. The seventh foundation is keeping record and making a budget. Proverbs 23:23

8. The eighth foundation is don’t cosign. Proverbs 27:13

9. The ninth foundation is that of hard work. Proverbs 14:23 It is important to work. “In the beginning God creat-ed...” (Genesis 1:1). Even God is at work.

10. The last foundation is that of seeking godly counsel. (Psalm 1:1) Before mak-ing a major purchase or just borrowing money, pray about it and seek counsel of godly people.

Tip: Your financial foundation has to be strong in order to stand the prosperity that God has for you.

We are progressively moving forward quickly in achieving some of the goals and working through the struggles that come with being community activ-ist. We are now in our third month of operation and we have many projects on our agenda. Since our last meeting we have recognized our Life Members with a successful program with a much better turn out than we expected. Thank you to those who sacrificed their time and efforts to make this event special for our life members.

We are continuing to work on the many community issues from concerned persons that may have had some type of encounter with law enforce-ment. Presently, since the release of the DOJ Ferguson report and being pro-active to addressing issues policing concerns before there may be a serious incident we are taking steps to have interactive community forums.

Here are upcoming events providing opportunities for your involvement:

Richmond Branch Town Hall Forum—Mid April & May: at 31st Street Baptist Church. The topic will focus on the DOJ Ferguson Report with a community forum meeting with City Richmond and Police Officials.

Spring Membership Drive through our Churches Our goal is to reach out to you and area pastors seeking your help with membership— our lifeblood. It is important that pastors/church leaders are up front and center, to ensure our progression reuniting us spirituality and in greater civil dignity creating stronger families and communities.
