Daroga State Park Description

Introduction Daroga Park is located on the east side of Lake Entiat approximately 8 miles upriver from Orondo. Access to the park is from Highway 97. The 140-acre park includes approximately 13,000 linear feet of lake shoreline. The existing park serves as a focal point for day use activities, RV and tent camping and boating. Proposed park improvements include 41 new cabin camping with associated restrooms/showers and playgrounds. The development program also includes improvements boat launch and docks and the lawn area on the western edge of the park. Site Status The Washington State Parks & Recreation Commission operates and maintains Daroga Park. The site for the proposed cabin area in the northern end of the park is adjacent to an existing orchard. A 100-foot setback between the cabin area and the orchard will be included in the development of the cabin area. Landscape Character The park site is on the east side of the lake and consists of both shoreline and hillside areas. The existing park landscape consists of turf areas with stands of trees. Numerous water access points occur along the shoreline. The shoreline and hillside areas provide sweeping vistas of the lake to the south and west and the mountains to the west. Project Description The existing park development consists of a series of day use and camping areas. Proposed park improvements include expanding opportunities for camping by developing cabins and renovating the area adjacent to the existing boat launch. The lawn area on the western facing slope adjacent to the lake will also be restored through the introduction of native grasses and shrubs. Several of the projects discussed within this section will be the responsibility of State Parks. North Cabin Area – This area will consist of a series of cabins located on terraces cut into the hill side. The development program includes:

• Entry road Asphalt road – 24 feet wide with gravel shoulders Guard rail improvements Entry gate Directional signage

• Emergency access will from SR 97 at the eastern edge of the cabin area. • Service access will occur at the eastern edge of the cabin area. • Circulation and parking
