(V) TECHNICAL JUSTIFICATION FOR CHANGE IN WELL LOCATIONS: Ten (10) numbers of Wells for exploration drilling in the NELP VIII block CB-ONN-2009/4 were accorded Environmental Clearance vide F No. J-11011/1/2011-IA II (I) dated 25th September, 2013 along with the mention of co-ordinates. (Annexure-III) Prior to the carrying out the EIA studies, ONGC had tentatively demarcated the ten (10) locations and the same co-ordinates have been cleared for the grant of EC in the JV block. Ist Amendment was received in which the co-ordinates of new finalized two locations, Well#1 and Well#2 were changed and approved vide F No. J-11011/1/2011-IA II(I) dated 24

th December,2014.

Subsequently Well#1 & Well#2 were drilled as CRAE (CRNL-1) and CRAF (CRNL-2) in the year 2014 & 2015. While implementing the Work programme in the JV consortium, the locations at SL. No. 3, 7 & 10 were tentatively put in the EIA report on the basis of earlier interpretation on 2D lines. The interpretation has been revised and re-revised now with the completion of drilled two wells CRNL-1 & CRNL-2. Further on the basis of revised interpretation, ONGC wants to seek the approval of three more locations listed in the original EC as Well# 3, Well#7 & Well#10. The new co-ordinates of the finalized three locations are as below:-

S.No. Name of the Well Latitude Longitude

1 Well#3 (CRAG) 230 32’ 37.37”N 72

0 37’ 37.72”E

2 Well#4 (CRAH) 230 27’ 22.90”N 72

0 39’ 24.00”E

3 Well#5 (CRAI) 230 26’ 11.09”N 72

0 40’ 04.52”E

It is thus requested that the above three locations CRAG CRAH & CRAI whose co-ordinates are 23

0 32’ 37.37”N; 72

0 37’ 37.72”E, 23

0 27’ 22.90”N; 72

0 39’

24.00”E & 230 26’ 11.09”N; 72

0 40’ 04.52”E respectively may be agreed for

modification so that the exploratory wells may be drilled in time for implementing the JV work programme. The modification in the co-ordinates of other remaining five(5) wells mentioned in the EC is also likely to be reviewed and changed on the basis of drilling results in the wells CRAG CRAH & CRAF.

Therefore, modified EC for drilling 3 (Three) wells CRAG, CRAH & CRAI in the

NELP VIII Block CB-ONN-2009/4 may kindly be approved.

(V) Proposed project is not located in critically and severely polluted areas as per

MOEF notification dated 13th January 2010.

“I hereby given undertake that the data and information given in the application and enclosures are true to the best of my knowledge and belief and I am aware that if any
