Scholarship OpportunitiesCYCU offers scholarships to ensure that qualifiedstudents have the financial resources they need to advancetheir study. The scholarship opportunities include:1. Distinguished International Graduate Student (DIGS)

Students with excellent academic records approved

by the faculty member in the graduate degree program are awarded DIGS scholarship. DIGSscholarship recipients are offered: Full tuition waiver for Masters program students

for 2 years and Doctoral program students for 4years

Monthly stipend for Masters program students of NT$ 6,000/month for 2 years and for Doctoral program students of NT$ 8,000/month for 4 years

Free on-campus housing Free one-year Chinese language training course. DIGS scholarship recipients are required to work

as research/teaching/graduate assistants with an

assigned faculty member, 4 hours per week. DIGS scholarship continuity is based on an annualreview of academic performance: The suspense and cancellation of scholarship andgrant: If the Special Grant-Aided students averagescore of the first semester is below 70, the stipendof the first month of the next semester will becancelled. If the students average score is below70 for two consequent semesters, the student isdisqualified for the next school years scholarship.If the student graduates, completes the program of study, suspends the program of study, or quits the

program of study, then the student will be

disqualified for the scholarship and grant.Subsequently, the scholarship and grant will bediscontinued immediately.

DIGS students will need to pay their own livingexpenses such as food, clothing, National HealthInsurance (NT$749 /month), books and other

personal expenses fees, dormitory A/C electric bills etc, which are estimated at NT$3,000~8,000 per month. (Costs are estimated andunlisted costs may occur.)

2. International Student Scholarship (undergraduate) Incoming freshman: tuition fee is waived to payfor the incidental fees. Continuing students: tuition fee will be waivedfully or partially based on the academic

3. Taiwan ScholarshipInternational students are encouraged to apply for thegovernment- sponsored Taiwan Scholarship to study atCYCU. More information may be obtained from the

Taiwan Embassies in your country.

are eligible to apply for undergraduate programs; bachelors degree holders for Masters programs;Masters degree holders for doctoral programs.

2. International students who have been expelled fromany university or college in Taiwan are not eligible toreapply for admission.

Definitions of application:If the applicant fits one of the followings, he/she isNOT entitled to apply as an international student:1. He/She has ever applied or studied in Republic of

China (ROC) as an Overseas Chinese student.

2. He/She has applied and obtained a high schooldegree as an international student in ROC and wouldlike to pursue a further degree.

3. He/She has been expelled by a university or collegein ROC.

4. He/She holds nationality of Hong Kong or Macau or People's Republic of China

5. He/She holds ROC nationality6. He/She held ROC nationality, and has not renounced

for more than 8 years, up until the course startingdate of the CYCU semester when he/she seeksadmission.
