• A PIN is a 4-digit number that is used in combination with a student’s Social Security Number, name, and date of birth to grant the student or parent access to Federal Student Aid Web sites.

– www.pin.ed.gov– Does not expire– Should not be shared– Both the student and parent must have a PIN

• Electronically sign a FAFSA on the WEB• Correct their FAFSA using Correction on the WEB• See their EFC and other student aid report information as

soon as the FAFSA is processed

• Review their financial aid history in the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)

• Access direct loan information and tools• Sign electronic promissory notes for direct loans

• FAFSA processing cycle lasts 18 months– For 1011: January 1, 2010 – June 30, 2011

• FAFSA submission deadline for 1011: June 30, 2011• FAFSA Corrections must be received and accepted by

the CPS before midnight on September 15, 2011.• Note: The school must have the complete and

correct information from a student by their last day of enrollment in the 2010-2011 school year.

Application ProcessingEstimated tax information

• Students may submit a FAFSA with estimated income between January 1st and April 15th

• The FAFSA must be updated by the student when the tax return is filed on April 15th

• A school should not disburse aid on estimated income
