Ethanol production unit implant:
• Ethanol production in Mato Grosso (Juscimeira) will use corn, exploiting the high productivity
and low input price in the region, in addition to municipal tax benefits (10 years, renewable for
another 10 years) for such implementation.
• Ethanol production in São Paulo (Canitar) will start with sugar cane; the plant will be ready to
work in 6 months. Investments will be made to replace the old mills with big potato crushers . A
large nursery will also be developed for industrial potato seedlings and, in parallel, the leasing of
land, aiming its cultivation in the region. Our aim is the application of a new technology that is
absolutely sustainable and can be a new alternative of energy in our country.

Sugar cane
The main Brazilian energy matrix in ethanol production has been sugar cane for over 30 years,
with more than a hundred of units all around the country. However, new alternatives, such as
corn, are on the rise. Mato Grosso has led this race. Its great productivity and potential for corn
culture puts Mato Grosso at the forefront for this technology of ethanol production. Sugar cane
has a low cost for ethanol production, yet the machinery needed is too big and heavy.
Corn
Corn, unlike sugarcane, has a high value, however, its structure is very light and simplified, and
its productivity can easily reach 350 days a year. In addition to the ethanol production, the unit
also produces a significant amount of corn oil, DDG and energy.

Corn based ethanol main benefits:
Increased production capacity, up to 340 days per year;
lower water consumption when compared with sugar cane;
the production is highly mechanized, implying less manpower needed;
lower environmental impact ;
cultivation turnover, which provides soil improvement and lesser use of chemical fertilizers;
lower production cost when compared to sugar cane;
ever growing demand.

Potato based ethanol main benefits:
Increased production capacity, up to 350 days per year;
lower water consumption (50%) when compared with sugar cane;
the production is highly mechanized, implying less manpower needed;
lower environmental impact ;
cultivation turnover, which provides soil improvement and lesser use of chemical fertilizers;
lower production costs when compared to sugar cane;
big productivity.

Potato based ethanol main benefits:
Significant reduction in production loss, as it is possible to wait for the best moment for
planting and harvesting;
can be stored for two months after harvested;
when left on soil for extended periods can increase production;
a great culture option for family farming;
low production cost;
machinery investment isn’t needed;
ever growing demand.

Energy Matrix of Ethanol in Brazil
INDUSTRIAL SWEETPOTATO
The cultivation of industrial sweet potatoes for ethanol production is already known in other
countries. It presents fantastic cases and may revolutionize the Brazilian production of ethanol.
Some of the features of this culture are: low production cost, highly productive, almost null risk
of crop loss, lesser use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, and is also a great option for
cultivation turnover.
There are many positive features about this culture that may establish a turning point on
Brazilian ethanol production in a short amount of time. The DDG from the ethanol production
process can also be used for the production of animal food, just like corn DDG, resulting in a
new business.

The growth of corn in Brazil
“The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations report published yesterday, in Rome, shows that Brazil has consolidated its fast rise in corn production becoming the second biggest corn exporter. Ten years ago the country had only 1% of the global market, being now responsible for 25% of the world sale totals.
One of the reasons for this increase on the Brazilian production of corn is its use in ethanol manufacture. According to data recently presented by the National Supply Company (Conab), from the total of 30,3 billions of liters of ethanol during this harvest, 1,4 billion will be corn based.
This information is on the 1º Harvest Survey 2019/2020 on sugar cane by Coab, which presents data about ethanol produced from sugar cane and corn. Even thou it still represent a small percentage in comparison with the total (4 ,62%) the ethanol extraction from corn is well seen because of its potential…”

Regarding world ethanol production, the United States and Brazil are the main producers and are
responsible for 70% of the global supply. Worldwide, the ethanol production totaled 46 billion of
liters in 2005.
