A large crack opens up in the ground during the
earthquake. Cars, buildings, houses, and maybe
a few people fell into the crack.
In some of the cars and houses there were many
animals and people who were still stuck inside
of the houses and cars.
The fire was burning because when the
earthquake shook the ground so much, it
damaged the powerlines and the gas lines. There
was no way the fire could be put out.

Leo Ross is an eleven-year-old boy who lives
in California in the city of San Francisco. Leo
sells the daily newspaper each morning to earn
money. Leo had a special golden nugget that
he always kept in his pocket, that was used by
his grandfather, and then passed on to his
father and now passed to Leo.
On 18th of April after Leo was selling the daily
newspaper,2 boys who were brutal thieves
who lived on Rincon street named Fletch Sikes
and Wilkie Barens. asked to have Leo’s golden
nugget. But when Leo tried to protect his
golden nugget, Fletch punched Leo in his jaw
and toke Leo’s golden nugget and ran away
with the golden nugget. At night Leo tried to
get back by dressing himself as the ghost that
haunted Ricon street, and went inside the
broken house where Wilkie and Fletch slept.
Suddenly a brainy, annoying boy named
Morris came into the house.
And when Morris came in the house, Fletch
and Wilkie knew it was only Leo playing a
trick on him to get his gold back.
Before Fletch could beat Leo and Morris, the
ground began to shake violently, and the house
started to crumble. Only Leo, Morris and
Fletch got out of the house alive. And then
Fletch ran away, and when Fletch was gone,
Wilkie who was under the pile of bricks got
up. And then Leo, Morris and Wilkie started to
look for Fletch and go somewhere else because
of the earthquake. The ground began to crack
open and houses and buildings got on fire and
fall. And then the 3 boys ran even faster to find
Fletch. And when they got to a burning house
which was where Fletch might be hiding,
Morris just randomly went inside the burning
house. But Leo and Wilkie got themselves wet,
and went inside the burning house. And found
Morris stuck inside a crack of the house, so
Wilkie and Leo helped him out. And then Leo,
Morris and Wilkie found Fletch, and got him
out of the house.
And then Leo, Morris, Wilkie and Fletch and
lot of other people got on a train to Sacramento
California for a better place to live.

People say that you should get lots of food and
extra batteries and keep medicine with you.

APRIL 19, 2019
It is my opinion that the real tragedy jn the
story is that children are by themselves at a
very young age.
Today, on April 18th when I was walking in
the street, I saw an eleven-year- old boy in the
street this morning. He was just selling
newspapers, and I was following him just to
make sure he was okay. And by the time he
was finished selling the newspaper, and had
his finally sold all of his newspapers. There
were these two young men, who were about
eleven or twelve-years old who the most
brutal thieves in town.
And then the young men beat up the 11-year
old boy, and the stole his golden nugget and
the money he earned. And I think the little boy
boy had no parents at all, and I don’t think he
went to school much.
I think children should finish school or be out
on their own by the age of 18 or 19 or maybe
even 20. I also think children should always
have their parents with them. Or if the child’s
parent is dead or gone far away for a very long
time or they don’t have any part of his/her
family with them, they should at least have an
adult living with them and watching them.
