THRIVE @ FIVE 2018 Schedule

Introducing our EWI Thrive @ Five program! Sometimes there isn’t enough time to chat at our monthly meetings. Thrive @ Five is casual conversations and connections for our Chapter members to meet and get to know each other a little better. We will meet quarterly for just this purpose. We hope you are able to join us starting at 5:00 pm on the dates listed below.

Come join the fun!

President’s Message (continued from Page 1): We had our second Thrive at Five at Johnny’s Steakhouse and what an amazing way to spend a Thursday night! These quarterly events are a great way to learn more about each other and not have to jump right into a meeting once you are getting into a good conversation. Lastly, December’s meeting will be changed up and a little earlier than normal. We have decided to do a staycation at Lied Lodge on Friday, December 7, 2018. We will be sending out a survey to gauge interest and options for the evening. It looks like it will be a fun evening with the ladies of EWI Omaha! Be on the lookout for Executive’s Night Save the Dates, they are hot off the press and going in the mail next week! Have a great week! Diana Busche EWI of Omaha President

Upcoming dates: Thursday, July 12 – Roja’s Mexican Grill, Old Market

Thursday, October 11 – Nebraska Brewing Co, Shadow Lake Towne Center

April’s Thrive @ Five was held at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse,

The Corner Office

Austin Mackrill Vice President

Arbor Day Farm Austin Mackrill joined the Arbor Day Foundation in January as vice president of Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City, Nebraska, which includes Lied Lodge & Conference Center. Prior to this role, he spent ten years as chief operating officer of Eye Care Specialties in Lincoln, Nebraska.

We are bringing back The Corner Office! This is a section of the

newsletter where we will put a spotlight on one of our Executives from one

of our member firms. If you are interested in spotlighting your executive,

please let Stacie Robertson or Jordan Stocking know. Thank you!

In addition to his decade of experience and notable talent as a leader, Austin has a passion for woodworking, philanthropy, and all that surrounds the life cycle of a tree, making him a perfect fit for the Arbor Day Foundation mission. He feels fortunate to be part of an organization that has such tremendous domestic and global impact. During his first few months at Arbor Day Farm, Austin has been busy meeting people and learning about the history, activities, and opportunities that exist throughout the property. Recently, he led the farm’s annual tree planting in honor of Arbor Day and has been working with the team to help ensure every visitor, guest, family, and group has an exceptional experience.

EWI Representative

Rachel Schizas Sales Manager

Lied Lodge & Conference Center Rachel Schizas is part of a talented and dedicated team at Lied Lodge & Conference

Center at Arbor Day Farm. She specializes in corporate group meetings and events —

a role she has served in for four years. Rachel is dedicated to delivering service

excellence to her clients and truly believes each event is about finding inspiration and

opportunities to foster bright thinking. Rachel values her role within the Arbor Day

Foundation because it allows her to be part of something that positively impacts our

world. When she is not working, Rachel enjoys horseback riding.

Member Firm in the News

Lied Lodge & Conference Center is truly a special place. 140 nature-inspired rooms.

14,000 square feet of event space. 260 wooded acres to explore. It is a getaway like no other.

The Lodge was originally designed and built by the Arbor Day Foundation to serve as a space for like minds to gather and discuss trees, conservation, and environmental stewardship. Today, you will find that happening amid family reunions, business conferences, weddings, vacations, and more.

Regardless of what brings you to Lied Lodge, one thing is certain. You will enjoy your time at this one-of-a-kind destination.

Lied Lodge and Conference Center is operated with sustainability in mind. We focus on minimizing our impact on the planet through sound, environmentally-conscious choices in our day-to-day practices and processes.

In fact, we have won the American Hotel & Motel Association’s prestigious Enviro-Management Award for developing a culture of integrating environmental management practices that improve everyday operations and the bottom line, while maintaining quality service and meeting guest expectations.
