Churches on the Reservation are finding creative ways to spread the Hope, needed now more than ever. Sermons are proclaimed over the Reservation radio. GOD isn’t limited by the restrictions of mankind. I’m trying to communicate with State, Federal and Tribal representatives now more than ever, because: The directive is 6'social distancing. For MANY on the Reservation, they are living under the same roof with 20-30 people, so that directive is impossible. The directive is to wash your hands frequently. For MANY on the Reservation, they don't have access to running water, so that directive is impossible. For many of us who reside off of the Reservation, if we can't find what we need at one store, we can just drive a little further to another store. On the Reservation, it's a "food desert." There is ONE grocery store (and perhaps a few convenience stores) for more than 20 miles. MANY have limited access to means of transportation, so when the food runs out at Bashas, it's out for MANY. Even before this pandemic, on a typical day, someone from the Reservation was being flown via helicopter to a hospital in Phoenix, Mesa, etc. (well over an hour away from home). We're praying for this virus to get under control NOW...before a huge nightmare begins here. HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP (please): In over-crowded homes, if family members had face masks to keep their germs to themselves , the elderly and weak could be protected. In homes with no running water, if they had Clorox wipes (lots of them), their hands could stay clean. The same things you keep stocked now are needed on the Reservation. Pray. Please pray. If you are unable to do anything else, please pray. It's the GREATEST need. (All of this was posted on our Facebook page earlier this week. One church and a family are already sharing that they plan to gather supplies to send to us. Many others are, Lord willing, praying.) We’re praying that you can see God’s loving hand in spite of the scary news stories, etc. I thought I’d show you a special reminder of God’s faithful love that Dale and I witnessed just the other day. The weather is beautiful…and the flowers are a great gift!

Greetings from Arizona Reservation

Ministries & Dale and Diana

As all of us are aware, these are indeed challenging times. BUT…”Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4 We’ve been intentionally praying and looking for the things we CAN do, rather than the things we cannot do. As is the case off of the Reservation, churches are not permitted to gather. Also, the Traditional Sunrise Dances aren’t permitted to take place. Ten o’clock curfews are in place on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. That’s a lot of “Can’ts”. BUT, in spite of that, Vermaleen is using curriculum and supplies from our offices to continue teaching the children in her area about the Lord. We’re working to finish the Johnson family’s home. A new ARM website is being created, as is the 2019 ARM Annual Report. Supplies are being purchase and delivered…and more. For MANY on the Reservation, they are living under the same roof with 20-30

people, so that directive is impossible. The directive is to wash your hands frequently. For MANY on the Reservation, they don't have access to running

water, so that directive is impossible. For many of us who reside off of the Reservation, if we can't find what we need at one store, we can just drive a

little further to another store.

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP (please): In over-crowded homes, if family members had face masks to keep their germs to themselves, the elderly and weak could be protected.

Many others are, Lord willing, praying.)

We’re praying that you can see God’s loving hand in spite of the

scary news stories, etc. I thought I’d show you a special reminder of God’s faithful love that Dale and I witnessed just the other day. The

weather is beautiful…and the flowers are a great gift!

About Us…

Words can’t express how much it means to this mom and grandma; that you would want to know how our family is doing, too! We’re doing what you’re doing…calling and texting our kids as often as possible, and anxiously waiting for the “go-ahead” to visit once more. Dale suffered with shingles in his eye and ear right before Covid-19 became headline news. We’re so thankful he’s nearly healed! The eye ointment that was most certainly needed was tiny in volume, but $355.00 in cost! We thank God that we were able to get it, and have the regular visits with two doctors to make sure his healing is complete. Jacque, Wade, Megan, Tyler, Ronin and Baby Nolan live in the high country north of us. Jacque’s new business as an advocate for special needs students is on hold because of the school closures. However, Wade’s job with the railroads is considered “essential,” for which we are grateful. Jon and Linda were incredibly invaluable as the teams arrived while Dale was contagious with shingles. Jon oversaw two of the groups’ activities while Linda prepared their meals. Just after that, Linda got sick…sick enough that their doctor tested her for the Virus. We thank God that the results were negative, but ask for you to pray for her as infections continue to keep her down but not out. She’s doing a great job of watching as Jasmine, Andi, Morgan and Edward complete the school work assigned for remote completion. Justin is working as a firefighter for the community of Maricopa, AZ. Please pray for him to stay healthy, and join us for thanking God for the timing of all things. He and Theresa will be celebrating their first anniversary soon. We thank God that it was in 2019, rather than 2020 and in need of being postponed. Anissa and Baby Tommy continue to give us much reason for praise as well! Jenna’s job has been moved to her computer at home in Oklahoma. Again, we thank God for the continued provision of each of our kids!

Love, Dale and Diana

Just before the “stay-at-home” directive was given, we were blessed with the arrival of a team that comes twice annually. This year, 23 of them arrived, including ten of their children! At their visit last fall, they had voiced their desire to do anything that would help us. Our focus of ministry ON the Reservation continues…but the gifts God provided us (our offices, work group dorm-church, vehicles and more) need to be maintained as well. The church where our teams reside was in desperate need of so much attention. Palm Valley Church (Goodyear and Buckeye, AZ) weeded, cleaned, created a special room for the “staff kids” to play, scraped, caulked and painted. The difference is amazing! They also helped host a Family Fun Day and joined with their Apache brothers and sisters at the American Indian Church for worship. We’re so thankful for their ARMs (and hearts)! We also welcomed a team from First Christian Church, Yuma, AZ. Members of this church arrive often each year. This time, their labors to help at the Miracle Church’s Sunday School building was a great help! THEN, two men arrived from Prescott, AZ to help work on the Johnson family home. Words can’t express how much we thank God for these visiting Short Term Missionaries! One group has already cancelled because of Covid-19. We don’t have any groups on the calendar until June 27th. Please, please pray for others to make arrangements to join us. Truly ARMs are needed!
